Love my e2140 :)

Great chip. Mine is an 'MO' BTW.

EDIT: I run it at 3.2, but 3.3 & 3.4 were NO problem. I just like the way my settings work out at 3.2ghz.

Great chip, I can run it 2GHz with -0.3V undervolt prime stable. Held back by my Gigabyte motherboard, will eventually get a Abit IP35 of some flavor...

Thanks OP!

I recently got in on the IP35-E deal and am in need of a CPU for it. Bearing in mind the fact that I don't do much gaming or graphical manipulation, is there any reason to wait for the E6600 or would that be lost performance for my purposes? I'm planning to use this for movies, work, and general every-day use.

Thanks in advance for anyone kind enough to offer an opinion. :)

Just fair warning, while it is prime stable with an undervolt, ive done some testing and got strange file corruption issues over time.

you probably will want something 400 mhz bus capable.

pretty much any g33 or p35 board can do that, you can probably even buy a p965.

If you're going Gigabyte, the P35 DS3L rocks on the cheap. Got mine for $90.

That Abit IP35-e looks a lot less appealing after comparing its owner-reviews (on NewEgg) to the Gigabyte P35-DS3L's. Sure sounds like one trades in a $20 savings for greatly-increased chances of Problems.

But who am I to talk: after two weeks of staring I haven't pulled the trigger on either. Sigh.... Maybe today....

Edit: If ordering that guaranteed-"M0" from ClubIT, the CoolerMaster Hyper X2 cooler [whadda name!] is only $2 AR. (The $2 is s/h.) This cooler is probably overkill, but the price is right if you remember to request your $20+$10 rebates.

I have an Abit IP35-e and it's incredible for the price. Was running mine e2140 at 3.2Ghz with 4 x 1 OCZ reaper 1:1 (400x8).

Rock stable. Had to increase the vcore a little bit but temps were still around 32c idle and 58c under orthose load.

I am currently running a e6600 at 3.6Ghz on Air with this mobo with same ram and same settings (400x9).

Great board for the price. Uses solid caps as well. If you don't need RAID, eSATA or firewire, i really don't think you can find a better overclocking capable board for this price.

Oh...and OP.....good price on this nice 100% overcloking CPU, more if you get a nice aftermarket cooler.

Used a thermalright ultra 90 on mine.
