Ok, well my set of Ballistix Tracers (128MX64DDR2 PC2-6400 CL4) have "0730-25F" and either "LZR5", "LZ56" or "N6NZ" written on each chip. Anyone able to decipher that?

BTW I only checked one side of each set, since my spreaders were loose on one side only.

Edit: I guess I'm checking the wrong side? The chips should have D9GMH or similar stamped on it right?

Heres an update. I managed to pry off the heatspreaders from both sides of a stick of a Crucial Tracer 1GB DIMM. I took photos of the chips on the PCB. It looks the same on both sides.

The Corsai ram guy ON THEIR FORUM says Micron D9 drams are no more
Maybe others can call Crucial and verify this?

also a lengthy discuss of promos vs D9 drams here
http://www.overclock.net/intel...00c4-no-longer-d9.html

I must say, the pics of the drams you posted of "ballistix" chips does not appear to be D9 - to me anyways.

I must say I couldnt be happier with the 2 sets sent by newegg. O/C like crazy.
The heatspreaders are really epoxied on and several peeps have reported pulling a dram off the PCB by prying - so its not worth it to me to look underneath

D9 or not, I have ordered 5 sets of these over the last 6 months and all of them will easily do 1000 MHz which is good enough for me. (these include tracer and the 8000 version)

You can send two rebates w/ one form and in one envelope. I'm pretty sure this rebate isn't dead - i would check back tomorrow </wink>
