i am gonna return it, not really worth it in my eyes.
if anyone who wants this camera, for $260 shipped (insured) i will send it to you, w/ the original receipt and rebate, of course the box will have the upc.... I paid 250 for it, 10 is to cover the shipping.
Pm by Tues afternoon ....

The Minolta S304 is supposed to have an all-aluminium body, not plastic like the Vivitar 3725.
I believe the reviewer means that the body that houses the lens is aluminum, not the outside skin. The way he worded it is confusing. I too thought that for a second also. I opened the battery compartment (plastic inside) and saw a tiny bit of material located in a notch, close to the lens. It does appear to be aluminum. It would have been better if he worded it like, "The internal structure that houses just the lens is aluminum".

Re: Vivitar Camera for $260

I may just take that. I ordered a camera off of Buy.com and later requested cancellation. If they do cancel the camera I will buy this from you, but if they don't cancel it I have no need for two cameras. I'll let you know by the end of today.

Thanks

Craig

this is an incredibly hot deal especially if the camera is a rebadged Minolta. Here's a more comprehensive review of the Minolta S304: dcresource

Check out the sample night shot!!!

Staples just e-mailed me a 30 off 150 e-mail coupon good for in store purchases. This should make this and the other store purchase deals easier now.

FYI - Scored good on this one! Sent my wife to staples @ Jantzen Beach.

$249 - 20 instant - 40off200 = $189 Out the door less 50 MIR = $139 !!! (No tax in Oregon too!!!)

She also got us the free gift pack!

Before you all ask, the 40off200 we used came off the back of a catalog i receive monthly from them that was for online and phoneorder only. My wife said the cashier was nice enough to ring up the coupon anyway!

I'll post a scan of my receipt later tonight! Woohooo!!!!

I got one too, with the new email coupone of 40 off 200 I just got today.
249-20 instant saving - 40 coupon+ Califonia Tax(damn it!)= $ 205 - 50 rebate= $155

there are quite some 3725 left in our local store as the manager told me
The store is the one at Bundy & Olympic, in LA

yep loads in my local store too So Cal

they were aware of the replacement procedure, easy as pie, $155 final cost too.

If you are thinking about getting this cam, dont think, go get it, it is a great camera for the price (remember it is a Minolta s304 without the aluminium case ($400 camera) )

or you could just wait till eBay is over-run with them, and get it even lower 🙂

review of minolta imaging-resource.com

EDIT disclaimer, others are saying this camera has nothing to do with the Minolta S304. Fact is no ones knows for sure. For $150 you really cant go wrong though, use that money you saved to get a set of NimH rechargable batteries for this battery hog.

BTW, what is that replacement kit?
The lady asked me whether I want it or not, I said no for the $29.99 price.
Not as lucky as someone said it's free.

Someone called my store asking about this deal...unfortunately we've got lots of the 3625....so no switch here.

D@mn I blew it today. I got a $30/$150 coupon in my main email acct so I went back to Staples to get the price adjusted. I had completely forgot to check my other addy's and when I got home I found a $40/$200 coupon sitting there. Oh Well 🙁

donie, the replacement kit is a product replacement plan. For 29.99 you'll get a type of extended warranty. If the cam breaks they'll replace it. You may want to ask them if they have any extra coupons laying around that give you the free PPP. The girl at the store told me sometimes the employees get them in the mail, bring them in and give them to customers that are buying a cam. Unfortunatley, she had given hers to someone before I got there.

Hey... does anybody feel that the zoom lens motor in this camera is a bit noisy? It makes a very noticable whine when coming out.. and "shuffles" a lot when zooming in and out.

Yoshi

dang it, where is everyone getting these $40 off 200 coupons? I've bought a ton of stuff and they don't e-mail me any coupons! =(

As promised.....Scanned Receipt

As for where i got my 40 off 200, i get all my products that i buy shipped to my office. I get monthly catalogs from staples and most of them have the 40 off 200 right on the back.

This scan courtesy of my $5 Visioneer 8100 scanner i picked up at Staples a few months ago!

I was able to pick up a 3725 in San Mateo, CA. The store is at Bridgepoint Parkway. They told me this was the last one they had in stock, but you may want to call to double check.

I was lucky and picked a newbie cashier. She accepted the $40 off $200 coupon without hesitation and was really nice about it too.

Also, I noticed they had some cd folders on sale. I picked up a 96-cd folder for $12, a 64 for $5, and a 32 for $3. They had quite a few left when I was there. IIRC, the 208 holder was $20 and the 128 was $15.

I went to the pasadena store and got the last one!!
woo hoo!
scanned for $229.95 but there was tax 🙁
$245.xx after tax or so... then they verified the coupon with corporate offices 😉
... I asked for a rebate but they said they ran out of them... now where do I find a rebate for this guys?
