Just to start off.
I am a novice at building PC's.

I put it all together last night and tried to boot it.

I got nothing at all. No screen, not even POST.
Everything in the case was going though.

The video cards board light was on and fan was spinning. (grant it, it was an external connection for the fan)

Took the video card out rechecked all the connections and tried again.

Nope. The fan for the cpu cooler fan moved a tiny bit and stopped at start up.
We plugged it into a SYS-fan connection and it spun while it was on.

The gigabyte mobo also has these (phase leds) which tell you the CPU load.
They were completely lit up as well.

So do i need to RMA the CPU or is it something i did.

I do have a couple pictures of the mobo but not of the whole thing if needed.

(edit: sorry i thought i could copy paste from another board.

Look for the cmos jumper on the maual or google what it is, also make sure the connections from the motherboard to the case are also configured correctly. Dont forget to connect the 4pin power to the cpu and we all have gone through this its a learning process. Have patience and google and youtube have videos to help you learn easier, take care.

After reading a lot of review (recent ones) on newegg, I realize this could be the MOBO.

I did see the cmos jumper. This MOBO is labelled very well compared to some other ive seen.

On your board its an 8 pin next to top left of the CPU socket. Also make sure you have configured the Header connections labeled, PW, RS , HDD etc they are the little connectors that are attached to the front of the case, connect those to the motherboard using the manual of your board to guide you. If you have these wrong the computer will fail to boot.
