**DEAD**Corsair CMPSU-450VX 450W 80 Plus: $40 AR +FS**DEAD**

next to my $20 enhance 500W this deal look a little pale, but it is quite cheap on a normal level.

This has high quality Japanese capacitors, a 5 year warranty, and you don't have to bite your nails over whether it will show up banged up from poor packaging. Also has many excellent reviews from reputable sites. Seems like a bargain to me. 😎

Looks nice although Corsair is pretty slow with rebates. You'll get them eventually but be prepared to wait at least three months. Though I suppose that's par for the course with mail-in rebates.

Should be a VISA debit card with $30 bucks on it with this rebate.

I'll chip my last 2 cents in and also add that this power supply is really a 500w power supply with a 450w sticker. HS was able to pull over 570 watts stable on their overload test.

Antec Earthwatts 500w is using same design as this unit though with different caps.

Last one I got was just a check for $30. It was for some RAM I ordered in late November '08, got the check in late February. I have another on the way in the next week (if I'm lucky) for something I ordered in February. Hopefully it's another check.

it's true, but enhance 5150gh (silverstone ST50) is on par with ew500, actually slightly more efficient, also Japanese capacitors. but you're right about the warranty, just 90days for the oem. still, have one I bougt from newegg running in a rig for about 2 years no problem. It's very good with 36A on the 12V rail.

I second corsair rebates, did about 8 or 9 of them over the years, got them all.

I love mine. I got mine to replace my MGE Magnum 500W that had a broken fan. This one is not only much quieter, but I get much better overclocks with it too.

Nice power supply. It was adequate for quad Q6600/p35 chipset w 8800GTS 1 drive, 4GB, so a medium system.
Something peculiar (maybe just mine): It's very quiet when a lot of power is needed (CPU full throttle), but when nothing was running, the fan was kind of whiney.

Also, the power connector for the CPU (connects to the mother board) was 2 4 pin plugs instead of a single 8 pin plug. That was a real pain to connect in a tight space (Holding the two plugs together).
I had to remove a fan just to have some maneuvering room.

My 450VX fan is whisper quiet. In fact I have to put my ear right up to the PS to tell the fan is running, or else use a flashlight to see if the fan is spinning. It's the quietest fan in my case.

The loudest fan in my case is my 120 mm CPU fan since I don't have enough fan headers that can be controlled by speedfan software (CPU fan isn't even that loud, more of a low hum). My other intake and exhaust fan are at 30% throttle using speedfan but can still hear those over the power supply fan.

If you click on the rebate link in the 1st post you would see that THIS rebate does use a rebate card.

Deal is going to be dead at 12pm PST. The rebate period ends today (May 6th), so if you want one now is the time!
