But no sales tax other than WA. Plus it's a retail version, with the stock Intel HS. Now the wait!

For me if I drove to Microcenter, I'd have $14.74 in CA Sales Tax plus gas costs (approx. $20) on a 150 mile round trip. But I'd have it in my hands now.

Thanks OP.

yeah shipping is higher than normal, albeit no tax for most of the states

A couple of noteworthy things despite the excellent price:
Standard shipping is expensive and does not include full insurance. This could be because the item is being shipped from Canada (I think that this is a Canadian store).
Their reseller ratings aren't the greatest at ~6.5 over the past six months.

I passed despite debating it for a while.

I pulled the trigger on the E8400 from NCIXUS and its still cheaper to order through them with their shipping charges than to buy it from MicroCenter.

Some sites say they will receive stock this week. Others say they won't hit until the end of February.

Good luck guys, I'll never have money for such nice things. But in the past I've heard horror stories from NCIX about the border crossing from Canada to the US. Some orders were held for 3 weeks. Most of the time it put a solid week delay. Other times forms were sent to the customer to fill out that he wasn't supposed to fill out in the first place. That's what led to NCIX Canada's current bad ratings. It's been a long time digging themselves out of that. I hope it still isn't a problem.

Again, good luck all.

Tax was $14 for me. At MicroCenter with Illinois taxes its about $204 after taxes plus at least $10 in gas. No thanks!

Dude, the Q6600 is a better processor. You wont see any improvement.

im not too sure...as far as the apps/games out today, hardly anything takes advantage of 4 cores. so realistically, you'll see an improvement going from 2.4GHz -> 3.0GHz in MOST cases.

Now how much of an improvement, is another issue whether it be 1fps or 20fps in games or 30seconds of encoding time. Plus, I sold my q6600 on ebay for $230 (including fees) and the E8400 cost me $201.xx. So either way, i'm saving $ to upgrade

Just received a e-mail from NCIXUS, my E8400 has shipped. I guess it'll be here within 3 days. I had to pay for FedEx 3 day shipping so I hope I'll get it in the time promised.
