SVC has the Cooler Master's XI5-9JDSA-99 CPU Cooler for LGA775 chips for just $2.99 + shipping. An ideal no frills cooler .

lol, I remember having the CPU cooler on my old Pentium D 805. Worked actually pretty good, even when overclocking.

Of course I payed $15 for it at a Mom and Pops..... 🙁

Sheesh, just pd $17 shipped for a new stock intel copper core 775 hsf. Hoping to make a default e5200 live a long, happy life of office duty.

O' ya.....I'll Tt through bolt it too 🙂.

i think the aquagate duo in the same ad is a better deal... i'm going to grab one to see if it's quieter than the noisy stock fans on my xfire'd 4850s...

come on man, put $7 shipping in the title so we dont waste our time.

SVC has different shipping options, and different prices depending where you are, so shipping is different for everybody

Well, that Intel copper core HSF will probably cool a bit better.

This Cooler Master is interesting, however. If shipping is cheap enough, I wonder if the screws can be removed and used with the backplate as a poor man's version of the Thermalright bolt-thru kit?

Haha what a great idea.

will this be enough to cool an intel q6600?

I really doubt it.

i disagree, if it's good enough to cool a prescott, then it's going to be good enough to cool a core 2 duo / core 2 quad cpu that runs much cooler. i went from a pentium 820d to a core 2 duo, and halved my temps with the stock cooler. when i went to a q6600 the temps weren't that much higher than my core 2 duo

but to be honest i wouldn't cool anything on a stock cooler anymore unless i was broke and couldn't afford anything else. i only posted this as something somebody might want as a spare. i bought one as a spare so my main machine doesn't go down in the hsf dies

I agree and disagree

I have one of these and I had it on a Q6600 and it worked great. I later switched it out with a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme with mid speed fan.. I noticed only a 2'C change in temps.

If you have good airflow in your case, a lot of times a decent cooler will work fine.
