I'm hoping that this new Bios rev. isn't true because I just ordered one from newegg 2 days ago. I should be receiving my connect3d x800gto pci-e from newegg this thursday or friday. I'm hoping mine unlocks and will oc well. Let's hope for the best that this review isn't true and is made up! 🙂

I see one review that says that, which I definitely don't take as gospel. I don't see how a "BIOS rev." can prevent flashing to 16 pipes. I think it would take a hardware change. If you don't have an R480 or R423 core, you're likely NOT going to be able to run 16 pipes.

If there is a new bios which doesn't unlock the additional pipelines, don't flash your card with it. I used the Techpowerup instructions, bios and flashing tool and everything is great - couldn't have been easier.

Edit: There are reports on the Techpowerup thread that recently built cards may have R430 (not R423) cores which will not allow unlocking with a bios flash.

Is HIS a good maker of ATI cards, I haven't used ATI since 1999, I'm out of the loop for ATI cardmakers

Quick question, how does this compared with a x800 Pro?

if unlocked and overclocked my x800pro agp got 4400 on 3dmark05, with this unlocked to 16 pipes and oc'd to 570 580 I get 6500

I believe so, and I personally know they have great customer service. They sent me things I needed directly from Hong Kong at no charge.

Normally, the put Artic Coolers on their cards, and I'm disappointed not to see one on the x850 XT Crossfire Edition as the stock cooler make a lot of noise. 🙁

I personally don't think the x850 crossfire card would work? Don't you need a x800 Crossfire card to pair with a x800?

Man It is a sweet time to be building right now. I wish I was. The best 2005fpw deal I've seen, and a killer mid-high range bang for your buck performer.

The point of the Connect3D card is that it can be flashed to an x850 XT BIOS. 😉

Crossfire is different then SLI from NV. You can pair any 2 cards regardless of thier model. I'm not sure how this would work later if one supports directX9 and the other 10.
I guess the favorable would win out.

Has anyone got theirs yet , i ordered monday, delivery tomorrow. Just seeing what kind of success rate there is..

*ALERT* Connect3D GTO No Longer Moddable!

Just ordered 2x Connect3D GTOs from newEgg on Monday.
Both are unmoddable with the following fuse data :

CONFIG_DIE_FUSES : 0xEFF3EFFF
CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES : 0xFFFFF71E

Now what on earth am I going to do with these cards 🙁

I think the reviews said that the Connect cards mostly were successful with the mod, but they were never at a 100% success rate like the Sapphire's were.

That's true, but it seems that the new batches of cards from Connect3D are shipping with the inappropriate fuse configuration. Even the folks at Techpowerup say as much.

Oh well, time to bend over and take it up the a*s from newEgg (restocking fees :| )

so i would probably have a better chance if i got a older card. hmmm hope i can find one at a B&M store.

Would like to know the same thing. I have the serial number for it, anyway to match that up with something?

Use ATITool to check the configuration strings as shown in the modding instruction article at Techpowerup. The article shows what the values must be for a moddable card.
