Thanks, yeah I was lucky. I was afraid that they won't take the coupon. I make it a point to ask when then approved the PM. Both times, it was the sales person who accepted the coupon, they didn't ask the manager's approval, but they were standing behind them. They only ask the manager for the approval of the PM.

How were you going to use the $40 off $200, when the total would be under $200 after PM. They usualy don't take tax into account.

fwallet have a nice $30 off $150 that expires in May.

Quality wise, it's your standard monitor. Someone stated that this is a 60Hz monitor if you go to 1024x768. Which is not that great. But for $5-50, what do you expect. That's probably why they have so many left since the MSRP is $400! Haven't tried the speakers though, which is a plus.

<< The monitor does 85Hz @ 1024x768, 60Hz @ 1280x1024. Not bad for $50! >>

Really? Maybe I might just pick up one more for $5. Giving one to my GF's niece to go with the Burbie... and maybe one for my Sis.

I can't seem to find that $30 off of $150 coupon for staples. I went to a few sites but they just give me a code. I think thats probably for online use only. Could someone pm me the code for b&m usage? Thanks alot.

Man, what a deal! Walked into staples, grabbed the monitor, and took it to the checkout lane. Rang up at $349.98, showed her compusa's price of $199.97. New total with the pm is $184.97. Showed her a $30 off $150 coupon. New total after that is $154.97. After michigan's 6.00% tax, it came to a grand total of $164.27! Which means I just spent $14.27 for this monitor after the $150 rebate! heh!! Great deal! Thanks....

Just compaq about the rebate and the guy said theres no limit to how many you can buy and submit in for a rebate. We did agree it would be better to have them in seperate envelopes. I mentioned about if pm'ing at staples and useing a $30 off $150 coupon would effect the rebate from compaq and he said no. In fact he was very interested in getting one as well heh. Guess i'll be going back to staples and getting another or 2 or 3 or ??....??!........ Just hope he was right about it not having a limit per person or household.

Hello all,

Got back from Best Buy not too long ago. There were approximately 3 on the lower shelf out for customer easy access. It is confirmed by me that they do have the monitor for $199 - $150 rebate (which will print up at register). This is Best Buy store 242 or Clear Lake (Houston). I took one and another employee took the other one at the same time. Might want to check out one more as OPEN ITEM but still had the box, not sure if the UPC was there. Anyhow, local stores might still be carrying their's. Anyhow, good luck.

Since i've bumped into this board, i've done 2 pm's w/ staples. No I never knew they had that policy. Anyways, both times they never called the stores. I went into staples later in the day hoping it may help in getting the pm's. Both times they never asked one question about the pm, the cashier just looked at it and changed the price. Even when she had to have someone come over (prob the manager) to put in some number on the pc (to authorize the pm?) he never even looked at the rebate. Even when I presented the $30 off coupon, not a word was said. I told her about the $150 rebate and that she should get one of these for herself if she has a pc at home. She smiled. If you are trying to pm by using the printout of compusa's web page which clearly shows "sold out" on it, you may want to take a black pen/marker and neatly mark over that. If you don't feel thats right then don't do it. Good luck.

Well, My compusa still have stock, I just chose not to buy it their. But Staples did not call to verify stock, just that the ad has the current date. At the second staples, they took my Ad. It depends on the csr you get usually, but I have had good experience with PM with staples.

That same day I was having something PM in compusa and the called OM to verify, which took about 10min as he was on hold.

Try these 2, 08070 and 07735, both show in stock! Good luck. What about printing the PDF file. I just show them the circular. Also try different times at staples as they change shifts so you might get someone who is more willing...

just got the last one at my local staples, with the PM, 30 off 150 coupon and rebate = $16. flaming hot. the CSR called the local compusa and best buy, apparently he didnt care they were out of stock, b/c i called first and found that out, but decided to give it a shot anyway. for people that want a place that still shows them as in stock, try zip 94608, it still shows the emeryville store and concord store as having them in stock.

What settings are everyone using on this? The white seems to look yellowish... I did adjust the contrast? down from the default 100% to 80% as I was afraid it would burn out the monitor. Any idea for a optimal settings? It just doesn't look as sharp as my 7 yr old NEC XP17, which for some reason, does not like my Gforce 3 ti200, causing me to have swapped the Motherboard 3x, and the vid card 2x, to find out it was the monitor's fault.

This deal came at just the right time!
