I saw this monitor at BB for $199 but it was an opened box item (didn't see whether they were offering the speakers with it as well).

I grabbed one of the compaq monitors at the Redondo Beach, CA CompUSA. They were flying out the door! :)

I grabbed one of these in the Bloomington, MN store at 11AM this morning (stood in line for 15 minutes and only had six people in front of me). They must have had at least fifty of these monitors in stock . . .

Thanks CrapUSA for a great deal!

I was at Best Buy today and they had 3 floor models of the FS740 Compaq monitor. All 3 had speakers and price tags with $199-$150=$49 AR. There were also 4 in the case up on a top shelf. I never checked to see if there was a price difference or if this was the selling price.

I went into BestBuy hoping to do the 110% price match to Comp, and, to my surprise, their shelf price was $199 <$150 MIR, so, same as CompUSA. They did have quite a few in stock, but, oddly, about 6 of them had rain checks stapled to the boxes. But, I do not recall seeing this advertised there lately.

Got one at the North Olmsted Ohio store. Noticed that the Best Buy also had a few for the same price after the rebate.

BestBuy does what is called (by them..) a "market reaction". When a competitor has a price (like in this CompUSA in-ad print..) they price their stock accordingly(funny thing is tho once stock is gone they usually won't replenish til their competitor's sale is off.;) ) so if you can get it at BB..get it.

In Tukwilla CUSA, (seattle), There were like 50 of em... the security guy had them already in carts with the rebates taped and the bar code facin the clerk. Doors opened @ 10 an i got there @ 11 and still bout 40 left. I'd say about 20 people in the lot strapin them in thier cars! Funny lookin to say the least.

Very effecient... Walked in and out in like 5 min.

Ill hook it up here in a min and give a low down on the resolution and speakers...

I got mine today in Lansing, MI at 11:15 AM. There were about 10 people in the store at that time and they all had one of these monitors in their shopping carts. This monitor is a little clunky, but at this price who can complain.

well well well, this monitor is not flat tubed, hold it under sun light you will see the curvature of the tube which is behind the flat outter glass.

nevertheless still a smoking deal.

anyone know who the real manufacturer is?

Got one at CompUSA and saw the same deal at the BestBuy just down the road - got one from BB also

"Only one rebate per qualifying purchase" is the same wording Compaq used for the $150 off of the Ipaq 3635s a few months ago.

I got 2 Ipaqs back then and sent in 2 rebates - both came within the 8 weeks promised.

Use the online rebate registration process in addition to sending in the rebate - it will speed up the rebate process and give you a way to track your rebate(s).

I was lucky & picked one up at C-USA today.
It may not be perfect, but it'll look better than the
old VGA screen my Uncle is using right now.
He'll even have speakers too!
Should make him happy.
:D
BTW,
Mine was made in China.

Well I went to cusa today to pickup a flyer and some of the cd case. What's the deal with the $5 coupon?

Anyway, headed across the street to staples and ask one of the salesperson for a fs740. Brought it up to Customer Service and have them ring it up. $349.98, show her the flyer. The manager was behind her after no more then 30sec, she said ok. Ask if I could also use a coupon, said no prob. Stated that I was a smart shopper.

Here's what I was looking at
$349.98
-165.01 (110% diff)
-$30 (printable coupon over at fwallet)
for a total of $154.97. No tax in Del... Yah. So AR, less then $5.

The girl asked why I purchase it at staples since cusa has it for $50 AR. First I was hestitated in telling her, but I did.

Went and did the same thing at another staples and no hassel at all for the same deal. $10 bucks, what a deal.

Congrats. I got the PM for 34.99+tax but they wouldn't take the coupon. I tried at a second staples and the manager went back into his office and sent an underling out to tell me he wouldn't do it. He did not resurface.

Whoa you guys are super lucky. It's been hell for me lately getting any local place to price match anything even without a coupon!
