I have a Chieftec case and am very happy with it. It is very heavy duty, nothing on it is flimsy, the rail system for optical drives is great, and the removable hard drive cages are also a nice feature.
 
Need an extra side panel for my case to experiment and this seems like a much cheaper alternative. Why not... if it comes it comes if not then oh well
 
just ordered one as well. this is gonna get spray painted and clearcoated before i do anything.

These are excellent cases. I visit Tiger weekly and have bought a few of the Chemling/Antec/Chieftec cases. As a side note, this is the case that I used for my nices' pc and it's more of a plum-wine color than actual purple. It's not as bad as it sounds. Really. I heard this is THE color for 2005. Good luck color matching though.

Just ordered the purple one. The shipping was only $13 for a shipped price of just under $33. I had a Chieftec Dragon case in my possession for a couple weeks and I think it's a great case design. Nice and roomy. I like the 5 1/4 drive bay drive rails, the removable hard drive cages, the snap-on fan holders, and the support rails on the upper 1/3 of the case, which, presumably, help support the weight of the power supply. The one I had was an aluminum case, and it felt surprisingly light for its size. An all steel version should be pretty heavy.

I just hope that this one comes with the side-fan built into the side-panel. The Tiger Direct page shows it in the photos but doesn't mention it in the text, but I think they use the same generic text for all of the Chieftec cases. Hopefully that "plum-wine" color will look good. I guess I would have preferred black, blue, silver, or red.

Does anyone know the Matrix does for cooling? I assume that the lower half of the front bezel is vented about as well as the Dragon?
 
I'm sure it cools just as good as the Dragons. Pretty much the same inner design except the outer design of course. I've had two chieftec cases before..both have been awesome for cooling. My only problem with them is...they're heavy as hell 🙁
 



I broke down and bought the purple. For a closet Server I guess it doesn't matter what color it is. Besides, the wifey liked the color so it was easy to 'justify'.
 
man...i've been waiting for a good case deal too. Mine is so freaking loud. I can hear everything coming out of my case. Doesn't help that mine is super flimsy.

Both are OOS. :-(
