Sorry to mislead you, I meant I bought one during the week they also had the rebate (but it was for a different week period). I sent that rebate in already and I was wondering if I would still qualify for this rebate (even though it says one rebate per person). Thx. Would the rebate still apply?

I tried every 20 to 50 rebate coupon on the net and it refused them all saying
you can't use this coupon with an instant rebate.

something at staples is buggy. I guess they are trying to keep us from
using combos.

yep, big thanks for the post. i just ordered mine but was only able to use the $30 off. but still 159.00 for A05 is great since I paid 300.00 for an A04 not that long ago.

My experience is that the $50 coupon # that you have is probably correct.
Note that this is not the IR or the MIR, it is in addition to those.

The key is that the $50 was/is? only useable at (800) 333-3330 (AFAIK). I could not use it in the B&M, and I could not use it on-line.

Get it??? Call your order in and don't forget to use the $50 COUPON # that is available (you know where (and if you don't, Google knows)).

$139.98 After IR, coupon & MIR (+tax on the $299) ? now, be happy.

Does anyone think Staples will start cancelling these orders like they did for a similar deal last month? I was able to find a $40 coupon that worked online, but maybe I am blacklisted now and they will put my order in "processing" limbo like they did last month.

Staples just can't get these coupons right. If they don't want people to use them, why don't they go to the one time use 16 digit codes.

My guess is Staples will flag any online orders with larger coupons ($40 and $50 ones most likely) and cancel those orders claiming the item is out of stock. I suspect people will get the e-mail by Tuesday or so. That is my honest guess, having dealt with these guys last month.

For those who picked up the drive, what did you have inside? I think mine might of been used. Was your IDE cable in a bag or a rubberband around it or something? the seal on mine was also semi broken and was loose. I know it probably doesnt matter but I dont want a used drive.

my ide was wrapped up in a bag. got the drive, nero cd, video software suite cd, 1 blank dvd-r, instructions, the audio cable, screws, ide cable.

Don't put the cart before the horse and buy media for a drive you might not get. Staples burned people last month by cancelling orders.

I'm glad I didn't buy media that time like I was tempted to do. I'm not going to buy any media until the drive is in my hands, which the e-mail says should be this Thursday.

Well, I just got mine from a local Staples.

Came up to $227-50 MIR = $187 total. (That's after a $30 coupon and +8.25 tax. ;( )

I called the StaplesRebate center and they told me I could send in the rebate and it would be valid even if I purchased on Saturday night. But my spideysense is tingling... so I think I'm going to cancel the order and just place another one. It's a huge crapshoot and I don't want to pay $50 more if I don't have to.

Damn. I called up and got the lady (who was really nice) to price match to Fry's at $209 but when I tried to apply the coupon code I found for $50 off $200 she said the code didn't work. The site I got it from said the coupon expires 2/21/03 so Staples probably cut it off because they found out it was posted online. I was so close. The site I got mine from was e-coupons.com and they only had one that didn't expire yet (and that's the one that I tried that doesn't work).
