Ritek doesn't list the A05 as compatible with their -R media. Is it or isn't it?

Head over to the vcdhelp forum. Lots of guys running the a05/105 over there. I'm pretty sure I've seen alot of those guys using Ritek's with success. Not sure at what speed though.

Thanks MysticMan1, price on OM is now adjusted to show the reduced promo price .... now the question remains as will they ship 4x instead of 2x since the item clearly says it's 2x? and i don't see the 4x item ... might call a CS about that ... actually waiting for CS rep now :)

I joined the Staples crowd and ordered the 4X Cendyne. The online price was $249. I found a $50 off $200 coupon and it worked like a charm. $217 with free shipping and $17 WA tax. AR cost is $167. I jumped on this because I didn't want to jump through the Office Max hoops. The delivery time is 5 days. I can't wait to start fooling around with this.

Now a dumb question. Does this have something like "burn proof" when burning DVDs. Since the burn time can be long, depending on the media you have, burn proof seems like something you absolutely need.

sure does have burn proof SimMike! look on page 1 where it says link to review of the drive ... that is some very nice review from cdr-labs

i also stuck with Staples:

It looks like the 2 rebates are toally different, so does anyone see a problem with ordering one drive from Staples and one drive from OM?

Well, in for one at the .com site, 249.99-50off200,+tax=213.39, then -$50MIR=163.38 shipped to my door

In for another at the B&M, 249.99-30off150email coupon+tax=235.39-$50MIR (cash payment different address)=185.39

sweet. Now to see if the all our .com ones go through with the multitude of 50/200 coupons that were used this morning...


BTW: Mystic man.... I'm glad I was wrong about the $50IR needing a code, although they have been doing them that way recently... That would have killed our chances for the $50 off 200... If they kibash my 50/200, I have a 30/150 email coupon sitting here printed out.. :)

This worked out great. I ordered the 4x from Staples on-line this morning for $249 - $50 coupon + Tax - $50 Rebate = $159.94 A.R. Staples gave me a delivery date of 23-Jan-03 (Thursday). On my way to visit family around noon I stopped in a Staples along the way. They had 2 of these drives on the shelf. Showed the manager my Staples site printout & he accepted the on-line coupon code so I was able to walk out the door with the drive for the same price as on-line ($159.94 total - After Rebate). Just called & canceled my on-line order without any problem. Good deal.

got my local friend at Staples to PM it to Officemax's price... SO... it rang up as 249.94-110% price guarantee (21.96)=227.98+18.24$ tax=
grand total=246.22... have to go back with 50$ off $200 coupon (have 14 days to do so), will make it 196.22$ BEFORE Rebate

AR price 146.22 including tax, tags, and title :)... not too shabby i'd say

I ordered the Cendyne DVD-R/RW 4x Drive from Staples.com this morning and I just called Staples the CSR and had them PM the OfficeMax $229.98 price.

My Staples order :

$249.94 Cendyne DVD-R/RW 4x Drive (#499683)
$10.94 Optimum 80 Minute CD-R Spindle, 50/Pack (#496732)
$260.88 Total

-$50.00 Cendyne MIR
-$10.00 Optimum CD-R 50/Pack MIR
-$50.00 $50 off $200 Staples coupon
-$21.80 PM 110% (Staples $249.94 to OfficeMax $229.99)
$129.08 Total + taxes

When I call to PM the CSR already knew about the OfficeMax price and did the PM out a problem, but I heard some people say they were denied because the CSR say the OfficeMax drive wasn't the same as the Staples drive.
You can also PM a OfficeMax store since they carry the 4x version and it's the same price as the 2x drive if they have one in stock.
Remember if your total after the PM falls below $200 you could lose your $50 coupon, so your total after the $50 coupon would have to be over $221.80 to be sure that you keep the coupon. I didn't do that but the CSR did the PM anyway.

I also call OfficeMax and had they adjust the price on the Cendyne DVD-R/RW drive I purchased Saturday.
So my 2 day total is :
Stalpes Cendyne DVD-R/RW 4x drive $129.08
OfficeMax Cendyne DVD-R/RW 2x or 4x?? drive $129.99

GO! RAIDERS :D
