You can't do it that way since its Cendyne and technically not a Lite-On, uless you get a retarded CSR with Amez, no way in hell they will pricematch!

Great Post.

I think I might very well pick one of these up. It would be a nice advance from my 12x CD-RW I currently have.

Take care,

I'm going to wait for the new Yamaha coming out. 40x CAV. Burns in 2 minutes something. Plus, has some neat CD "engraving" tools if you have empty space.

Not to thread crap, but When are these cd-rw deals going to end??

Everytime I get on board, but only to see a week later that a better drive is the same or less. I'll pass this time around, I still dont even use my Lite-On 32x at 32x and just burn everything at 16x.

I'm an old school cd-rw user that still believes that a slower burn typically leads to better quality. Thats based on using old 2x drives (when they were $700) and burning at 1x just to get the cd's to play in no name cdroms and cdplayers.

Although I'm certain a 40x drive can probably burn at 16x better than a 32x IMHO.

I'll pass and wait until the next big thing, dvd-r's get cheap.

Before that happen liteOn will out with their "56x32x56" CD-RW drive around September and Yamaha will still be far behind the speed curve, the last time I checked they were still on 24x. :Q

I need a new CD drive, but I have 2 questions. Is this drive that much better than the much cheaper one next to it in the ad. And I can't find the $25 off 100. I get a page that says that the offer has expired. Has anyone a direct link to it (and how to use it- print it or what) Please PM me. Thanks Lynn

The Dell.com deal using the 10% and $15 off coupon is a faster deal. I picked up the Lite-on 40X for $47 shipped overnight.

Yeah, but what do I do with all my 12x media. I haven't even burned a CD at 32x with my current Verbatim burner I got last month.
