2 things I have noticed about this 32x lite-on drive :

Nero (package with it) won't burn TAO (track at once) with a bin/cue file (but works fine with DAO/96,etc)

CDRWIN 4.0 or any version ONLY sees this drive as a READER and not a RECORDER (Says
no cd drive installed etc when going to recorder info tab)

NERO sees in fine, but CDRWIN doesn't.. dang, I used CDRWIN alot.. anyone else
have this problem?

I have written Goldenhawk (cdrwin) company and am awaiting a reply.
Their website says ALL lite-on drives are supported. I previously had a 12x
Iomega and it worked FINE with this same copy of CDRWIN.

Also saw a post that the Polaroid 32x12x40 is going to be on Officemax.com website for 4/21 sale

129$ - 30 instant then (25 off 100 coupon) and 30$ rebate.. = 44$ after all is said and done.

WHO really makes the Polaroid drive and is it worth a crap? IS it better than the Lite-on
thats was 55$ after rebate...trying to decide whether to take mine back and get the Polaroid.
(havent sent in rebate yet)

Cejay:

If you are using CDRWin to burn bin/cue files, try using Fireburner. It works fine with the Verbatim/Liteon 32x. After using it for a little while, I think its interface is more intuitive than CDRWin's, esp. CDRWin 5.

Regardless, whether the polaroid drives are crap or not....Polaroid had gone out of business so I wouldn't touch one of their drives with a 10 foot poll.:Q:p:cool::frown::confused:

I just read an article in the paper like last week, it said bankrupt....either way, bankrupt or oob, I'd not want to buy a product, with iffy chances like that.

Don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message.... it was in one of the big trade mags.

Update : The rebate on the CenDyne 32 drive has been increased from $30 to $40, so the 32x drive is now selling for $64.94 after $40 rebate and $25 off $100 coupon.

Also Staples has the 32x CenDyne on sale for $99.94, so if you can find a manager who doesn't know the OfficeMax PM rules it could be possible to PM the Staples price and get it for $30 cheaper.

Crap, this is the wrong thread. Oops. Refer to the Cendyne 32X for $44.99 one. I was going to bump that one but I bumped this on accident! ahh. Sorry.
