2/6: new ad is out, deal is dead again.

Update 2/5: $50 off coupons are dead, so the deal is now lukewarm.

Update 2/4: the two $50 off coupons that I know of both expire today. After today, the next best coupons currently available will only give you $30 off.

Update 1/31: the deal is alive again, except you don't get a free battery anymore. There are still valid coupons out there. New item number for the bundle is BUND6151.

This is similar to the A70 deal that I (re)posted recently. OM ran this deal before Christmas and now it's back.
The SD100 is a 3.2MP, 2X zoom ultracompact camera that delivers very good picture quality.

Anyway, long story short, find a $50 off $250 coupon for OfficeMax. Search on their site for "SD100". Once you are in the product detail page, scroll down and add the bundle (BUND5822) to your cart.
The bundle automatically includes the free memory card and battery. You might have to pay tax.

Another freakin' awesome digicam deal, kudo's to BigSmooth!

Since I discovered that I'm more of a point and shoot camera user I think this is better suited for me than the A70 is.

Must resist temptation.

Come on Ross, you know you want it. $250 shipped is less than the lowest price on Pricegrabber for the camera alone. Not to mention that this is from a great vendor and you get a FREE 128 meg SD card and battery.

You can't get by with those old cameras forever, you know. A40? Old news. Fuji 1400? What era is that from?

Give in to the temptation, Ross... give in...

Ban!

I think I'll visit OM B&M to test drive it in person. It's weight, dimensions, how it feels in your hands and ease of operation are very important to me. I used to be anti-SD but since my next PDA will probably accept SD then I have learned to embrace media which is not CF.

Highly recommended. If you missed out last time, now is your chance for redemption. If you have one, buy a second for someone you love.

I love the SD100. I got mine from OM but before they had this great deal. It's smaller and lighter than the S400 and fits in the palm of your hand.

I'm still considering it. I currently have a Canon Powershot S300 (about 2.5 years old). It is a nice camera, but for some reason (possibly because it uses an auto-ISO between 100-150) I can never get good shots at night or indoors with less than average lighting. Shots taken outside during daylight turn out perfect, but everything else isn't that great. Red eye is also a problem. I notice this one gets over an hour longer battery life than my S300, but I think I would miss the 3x optical zoom. I'll think about it some more and hope it goes out of stock so I don't have to decide, lol.

Anyone who is considering this camera, and wants a small point and shoot digital, should buy this now! I got in on this deal the last time, and could not be happier. What a quality camera it is.

Since I got this deal, I have been checking and checking, and I have yet to find a better deal on this camera.

Thanks BigSmooth.

I've been watching prices on the SD100 for a while now and haven't seen anything even close to as good as this.

Should have mine early next week!

I have the S230 - 2x optical zoom is OK, but for such a compact camera, it's hard to expect much more (with the S400 having 3x)

by the way: does anyone know if these digital ELPH's have optional telephoto lens or other lens accessories? Do they generally tend to offer lens equipment for such little cameras?

Wow, thanks BigSmooth!

I have been looking for a deal like this on the SD100 for a while now and had almost given up. I was in Best Buy yesterday and almost gave in, I guess a little patience does pay off sometimes. :)

I have a question about this camera. When you are not using any zoom, does the lens stay flush against the camera body? Thanks.

M0RPH, as soon as you turn the camera on, the lens extends out automatically before you even use the zoom.

Ok, so just to clarify, it's either fully extended (on) or fully retracted (off)? It doesn't move in and out as you use the zoom? I've never owned a digital camera with zoom. Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me.

I just checked out this camera at Best Buy, the lens does move as you zoom in and out. But the movement is very subtle. I don't really understand where you are coming from on this question so I am not sure how much movement is too much for you.

Also this model does not have other lens options. You can buy an adaptor on a camera like the A70 to use different lenses, the SD100 does not have that option.

Why does it say "ships next buisness day" throughout the process and after checking out it says " Delivery date will be 1/26/2004 " ? Anyone have an idea? it asked during the process if you wanted to pick a delivery date, but I didn't figuring it would be delivered as soon as available
