I got in on this deal Feb 3 and got exactly what I ordered (black case, No PSU, $35 +shipping) and it arrived in perfect condition, except there were only 2 regular fans instead of the 4 LED fans. Not a big deal to me but I emailed them and they sent out the 4 LED fans which I received today. I'm very happy with the case and their service. This is still a great deal on an outstanding case and I'd highly recommend it!

But tonight I started to assemble my new system and realized there is no front filter assembly, which was one of the reasons I wanted the Antec/Chieftec SX10xx cases. BuyXtremeGear states that this case is identical to the Antec SX1030, but I can't find confirmation on the Antec site as to whether that model includes the filter assembly (the SX1040 definately has the filter).

Just wondering if any of you that bought this case from BuyXtremeGear received one with the filter assembly, and if not where can I purchase one seperately since I can't seem to find it listed even on the Antec website?

Nope, no filter assembly here. I got a filter from Menard, not exactly what it was for originally. It's white, about 1/8" thick, rectangular, and has the same texture as Scotch pad. Anyway, width wise it covers the fan grill in the front. To attach it, I just get the plastic-hook half of a velcro strip, stick it on the case, then the filter just attach to it. Works wonderful. This method even better for the SX-830 clone since the front panel is easier to take off. It's amazing how much craps it traps, espcially if you have pets.

Nothing free for me 🙁 Black, window, and only 2 of 4 fans (which I'm sure they'll make up for). Still a great deal.

The turbo Cool PS seems to be working fine, despite what I read about them on this thread. 2 HD's, DVD burner, CD burner, USB devices up the wazoo, hefty ATI AIW 8500. Rock solid so far...

Depending on the cost and whether the OEM filter will fit this case I may give your system a try. I got this reply from Antec support, but haven't called yet:

Dear Sir: This particular case is not designed with a filter. The Performance 2, a later version of this case, does come along with a filter. In addition, the filter that we have does not fit well in your case. Yet, if you want to try, call Shawn at 800-22-ANTEC x361 to place a spare part order. Colin Wu Antec Tech Support

Is this deal still on?

I got lost with so many posts.

I went to buyxg.com and saw the chieftec case for $35 + $17 shipping to Florida.

Actually the price will be more for $5 for the silver and black and $10 more for the other colors, people who have bought could you post about the how the color looks

It comes with 2 fans , I read some posts that it has 4 fans, how is this case, is it still a HOT deal?

If someone else knows another place to get a good tower, please direct, but I think this is the lowest price I have seen for a full good looking tower.

Don't know whether to buy this or not, do need a new case, does anyone know what the height of this tower is in inches, thanks

I think it's still an ok deal. If you only get a Chieftec case with two fans and no PSU for $50 shipped then you didnt get hurt too bad. There are no sure things but any added bonuses are well...bonuses, did anyone order without a window and not get at least a free window?

This is a good deal on an excellent case with Antec quality, no sharp edges! Contrary to what it's advertised as I'm convinced that it is actually equivalent to the Antec Performance Plus 1080 because it includes the front mounted USB ports under a little flip-up door, has a fan pre-mounted in the swing out side panel, and has a slot molded into the front bezel for mounting an air filter.

It's bigger than I expected, about 20 1/2" tall.
It's heavy, even without a PSU installed.
Fit and finish is excellent, the quick release drive bays and swing-out side panel are outstanding.
It has ALOT of room inside.

The original deal included 4 LED fans, now they only include 2 normal fans. These are pretty crappy generic 80mm fans that don't move much air, if you're overclocking I'd recommend you get a couple good temp controlled case fans. Also make sure you get a good quality Power Supply or look at this thread for some other antec cases with PSU.

Here's a link to a review that lists all the dimensions and has some good pics.

Thanks for the info fellas, a couple of more quick questions i have.

1. So basically the only difference from the original deal people bought it for are that there are two less fans now, correct, or has the price changed too?

2. The other advantage people who might have bought it is that they got some added bonuses by mistake, right?

Other than that is this a good case to get in the market today or is there a better deal availalbe, im looking for a case to hold 4 external drives and 4 internal at least. Thanks again.

Yup, $40 instead of $35.

Yup, some got aluminum instead steel, some got power supply (yours truly included), some got extra fans.

This is the one to get.

Well mine shipped today. I ordered a red case w/o window; an email from them shows my order as the red case with window. Oh well.

Just got my case as ordered, Black without a PSU and 2 Fans.

How the heck do you use the 5 1/4 drive bays? I have never had a case like this before. If you have pictures to illustrate, please do. 🙂

LOL... Take two of those plastic rails that are attached to the bottom inside the case and screw them to each side of the drive and slide it into one of the 5 1/4" bays until you hear it click. Couldn't be any easier.

The PDF manual for the case is here link
Case diagram is here link

I made my own filter out of AC filter material, if you want the Antec filter that should fit in the front bezel you can call Shawn at 800-22-ANTEC x361

cost $6.xx
ship $6.xx
total ~$13

I finally got my case. First bad weather delays my shipment. Then I find out Buyxtreme didn't put my apt number so fedex misdelivers. Then fedex messes up again (they said "factors beyond our control" on my tracking). So I went to the fedex distribution center and got it myself. 3 day shipping turned into 7+day shipping.

Well I got a window (didn't request one). No free PS. This case rocks.

Well this deal has gotten yet a little cooler, but still an okay deal imho. No fans included now, although one came with mine. Box w/window and the 420 PS (I have faith) shipped for $92.

Love the case. A question though.... The window is definitely smaller than the one they show on their site:

What I received from them

For those of you who ordered this box, which window did you get?

Yes I know this is picky. 😀

That's typical of my luck.

Think I would I be wasting my time to complain to buyxg about it? I want the big window (the chieftec one).

You will be wasting your time big time... But try if you are inclined to!
