Brother HL-2270DW Workgroup Up to 27 ppm Monochrome Wireless Laser Printer with Duplex is $77.99 at Newegg. Great workhorse printer. I have owned one for the last 3 years and never failed me yet. Free shipping is available it says. Not sure what that means. This is the best price I've seen for this very popular printer in a very long time.

4-7 days shipping is Free. 3-day shipping is $2.99.

Same price on Amazon by the way, just a matter of shipping and tax costs preference.

How is the toner for this do you use knockoff or refill or OEM? Ive been thinking about getting a brother printer because of all the knock off toners I see for them although they might be reasonable for OEM unlike Samsung arm and a leg toners.

I personally bought an aftermarket kit to convert the Brother starter cartridge into a high capacity one. I refill my cartridge. You get 2500 sheets printed with a refill they claim. The kit was $17 but you can get it cheaper. I just liked this place because they are reputable and sell excellent quality kits and toner. You can buy aftermarket cartridges from a lot of sources. I would warn you that they don't all work and some of the toner out there is crap. Do your homework some of them aren't recognized by the printer.

Do a google search for TN-450 that's the large cartridge for this printer.

There are lots of other aftermarket sellers cheaper but I trust these guys.

Thankyou Sir.

Yep, great printer. I've had one for ~2 years, hasn't failed me at all. Duplexing works great and the wireless is nice to have.

if you buy through newegg mobile site (m.newegg.com), you can use google wallet to take $15 off $50 and make this printer really a hot deal!

I have the little baby cousin of this...The 2170W(essentially the same as this one without the duplex).
These models just won't die. I'm waiting for Brother to release a "refresh" with Google Cloud Print support out of the box but it doesn't seem like that will happen.

Those LINKYO compatible brother TN450 black toner cartridges go on sale pretty often for $15ish and are suppose to be pretty good replacements.

The TN-450 Rosewill cartridges they sell at Newegg are garbage. Stay clear of them nothing but problems. People get 700 pages out of a 2500 page cartridge before it shows empty.

I own this printer to and really like it especially the wireless feature. It's rock steady compared to our Lemark inkjet that got replaced.

The TN-450 cartridges are really a great value

I have a MFC-7460DN and love it, have used ones like the one linked in OP with good success too

One tip: brother printers tend to report "Toner low" early. At least with my printer the printer will stop working at this point throwing an error code. Don't need to change the toner cartridge, just follow the procedure to acknowledge the toner warning and then you can print until you actually run out of toner. Noticed people on Amazon complaining about short toner life for this reason.

I'm not able to get the wireless to connect - router is a Linksys E3000 running Tomato USB 1.28. Anyone else having issues with the wireless?

I have this printer. The first cartridge didn't last long. I got a Brother cartridge, which cost about as much as the printer. That cartridge has been going on 1.5 years now, and my 5 year old prints stuff all the time to draw on. With the "demo cartridges" that every printer comes with now, I just factor a cartridge into the price of a printer.

Interfaces fine with my wireless router. I forget what it was originally, but it's flashed to dd-wrt now.
