It seems that the GTs are finally going back down to the price in which they were first intended. How often does nvidia and ati release next generation cards?

I think the next major upgrade for me will be PCI-express based, which means a whole new setup.

i went for this deal last night. ordered the card at around 10PM, did the overnight shipping since it was only $11, and i got it at 1pm today! shipped overnight via dhl from ohio to new york. awesome deal in my opinion... already got it clocked at ultra speeds :)

and by the way, this is retail and it includes the newer 2-fan cooler. mine was running quite hotter than i expected, so i pulled off the heatsink and put some arctic silver 5 on the gpu and ram modules and now it runs a bit cooler. the fans also have blue led's in them, which looks pretty good in my blue-themed case. if you plan on doing any extensive overclocking (which usually requires a volt mod in the bios), you'll probably want to get an nv5 silencer.

What are u a Fry's spokes person, impersenating a happy costomer? the cheezy reviews that companys do for themselves sound more convincing then u.

what's all this nonsense about outpost being a shady company? They've been around for many years and have been excellent for me.

what are you talking about jolancer? i just signed up for this forum because i wanted to share the experience that i had with this particular hot deal. i supplied as much relevent information as possible for all of those interested. don't make wild assumptions just because i wrote more than one sentence about my experience. sheesh.

Took a look over at resellerratings and it turns out they have a 6-month rating of 3.80 - which is very very low. Looks like they've had problems keeping items in stock and properly updating the site to reflect current inventory. Customer service seemed to be a problem lately as well.

I haven't had any problems with them, I also was impressed with the overnight shipping. Ordered some ram after 7pm, received it the next day, which was Saturday, by DHL.

Most of the big companies have bad reseller ratings. Of course most of the companies with good reseller ratings are online vendors. It seems a common trend for B&M.

by the way, jolancer, i'd be more than happy to send you pictures of the box, shipping label, invoice, etc if you don't believe me. and try to check your spelling next time you attack someone, because you look like an idiot.

I've only purchased one item from them and I received it on time despite hurricane frances. I'm still waiting on the rebate but that is supposed to take 6-8 weeks.

ha, it still amusess me that ppl here are still so suportive of outpost, even though u have all seen there buisness practicess.

fair enough though, i am a noob wen it comes to buying anything from outpost, and it'l be that way for the rest of my life.

I agree with you man. I dont see why everyone boasts about frys/outpost. They NEVER marked returned items. You never know if you are buying new or used there. There warranties are a joke. I actually bought one on a mobo couple years ago when I built my first comp. Luckily it was only 20 dollars for the warranty, because when I came back to get a new one, they wouldn't do crap for me. That incident, combined with a frys employee who actually told me about their bad business practices, has given me a good enough reason not throw any money at these SOB'S

Errs, I disagree with you two because if you have been returned one item to Fry's, you should have seen they would clearly marked the return sticker on the return item. (No restocking fee too)

I have been shop at Fry's Electronic for the last 14 years so ... please be honest

Whats there to lie about? Maybe your nearest frys is more legit, but the frys that are near me (like 25 min away) both have a half a$$ way of conducting business.

Jolancer,
I don't think you've contributed anything worthwhile to this thread. You accused him of signing up just to post this deal with absolutely no proof other than it was his first post. Maybe he was a lurker and saw that no one had reposted it yet(did you accuse the poster in the original thread that someone mentioned of being an outpost conspirator as well?).
You obviously have some anti-outpost sentiments. Good for you. However to some people, myself included, this was a hot deal and I appreciate the posting. I have dealt with outpost for a number of years too. Just like all big companies they make mistakes. If you have any kind of credit card company they will protect you from online fraud because they really want you shopping online.
Unless you have something, ANYTHING factual to say, can you just leave the thread. I think we've all got an impression of what you think of this deal and your incessant negativity is kindof annoying and I thought against the rules of this board.

Well I'm not a new member, and here's my story:

I placed my order at around 2pm on Friday and was shocked to have it delivered to my front door before noon of the next day (Sat 9/18). $11.78 shipping. They even include a return shipping label.

Outstanding performance by Fry's/Outpost and Airborne.

Card is in sealed regular retail box. Dual fan cooler.

good lord, i just figured you guys would be interested in this deal. sure maybe youve had problems with outpost, i dont know anything about that, i always hear about fry's so i figured they were trustworthy, atleast more so than the other buy.com deal. Sounds like plenty of people have ordered and gotten theirs, and mine has shipped becuase the tracking shows it in Roenoke, VA so I would be installing it now if it weren't for the lack of mail delivery at Virginia Tech on weekends.

And yes ive been lurking here for a few months without really posting much becuase i figured i wouldn't find any deals before you guys did. I stumbled upon this one and was surprised and excited enough to post. sorry if ive deeply offended you all hah.

Looks like it's out of stock, so you might want to edit your first post so that people know that. I didn't want to bump it up because it was out of stock, but I did want to say a big THANK YOU to disantlor for posting this deal, you saved me $50 and a trip to my local best buy.

Please don't let Jolancer get you down. He probably did have a bad run in with outpost at some point and probably does have some justification for not liking them. He shouldn't have taken that out on you for posting a good deal. As you can see, many people(me included) jumped on your deal, and it was definitely a good one. We appreciate you taking the time to post it and hope you won't be hesitant to post more in the future. Thanks again!

Why would you say such a thing if you've never bought from them?
