Can't you just do the tried and true "buy it before the sale return during Black Friday trick" here? So basically all you do is go to return it that morning, and just buy it back right at the counter. Not so hard.

 
You think I can do that? just go to the customer service desk with the TV, say I want to return it and buy it back again for the discount? Im not sure what the difference that is over just doing a price match except I have the TV right there... what if they dont let me buy back the one I just returned, or do you think that wont be a problem?

that would certanly be much easier as I wouldnt have to wait in line at 2AM to make sure I get it. you sure about this?
 
ok, I just called them and YES you can return it and buy it back on the spot to get the discounted price!! it has to be within the hours of the sale, 5-12, but I asked her several times and she said yes you can return it and re buy it at the sale price as long as you are wthin the sale time window.. cool!! no line for me!!

So I guess you all could pre-buy the laptop and then just come in and return/buy it for the sale price during the sale hours!

EDIT: You CANT do this.. they change their minds frequently there..

As I recall from previous years, didn't some people say that BB's service counter was either closed or minimally staffed during Black Friday?

Scratch all that crap I said. apparenly you have to call about 5 times to get a straight answer at BB. from what im being told now, you cant return/rebuy a sales item; they look at is as though its a price match on a prior purchase. im not sure how this is a prior purchase though because I would return it and then rebuy it so it would be bought then. what they were telling me though is that if I returned it they would give my tv to someone who had been waiting in line for the sale. but this is BS because then it would be used and they wouldnt be able to re-sell it as new. bottom line is that you have to wait in line, they will be giving tickets out at 4AM for the products you want. so be there at 4 and see if you can get a ticket for the thing you want to buy. if you dont get one at 4 then you know they dont have enough and you can go home...

what I hate is that I got 3 different answers each time I called. this last time the cust service kid said no, then the floor manager said yes, then the store manager she checked with said no... get your friggin act together!!!!

IMO you should just show up @ the service/return desk @ worstbuy & do the PM. If it doesnt work try another, some newbie will prolly do it anyways. 🙂

 
im just going to wait in line at 4AM and see what happens. I would also like that $375 laptop, if there are any left. I doubt that there are too many people who are eager to drop $1000 for a westinghouse tv.. most are probably trying to grab cheap laptops so I should stand a good chance. if I cant get the deal then I will return it and get the 1080P version from newegg for $200 more.
 
I think i'll go an hour before they open. Local BB is a smaller one...I hope that means less of a line. I want a laptop ($250 or the $380 one....don't care which) and if they are out, I want one of the $190 desktops.
 
If I get to CC at 7 or 8ish tomorrow will I be OK? My buddy's goin with me, and he wants a HDTV...I want a DVD burner and a flash drive....And we know a guy who is workin inside, so...

I would say your odds of it being "ok" are about 5%. Seriously, if you want the deal, do the time. I don't want any deal enough to camp out.

doubtful, BB has been getting lots of coverage. i live in a town that only has a best buy and office depot and i know for a fact that lines will be wrapped around it by 12am. i'm going around 7pm thursday night to get in all the goodness.

My settings are identical, except my Picture is set to +10. Man o' man! I am watching ESPN HD and it is breath-taking! Razor sharp, colorful, and detail picture! I was one of those guys that was curious about the reviews and the hype. Well you have no worries. Go out and buy this for $999 or $1299.

Please, PLEASE break in your plasmas properly during the first 100 hours, guys. Read this white paper on plasma myths, which explains the break-in period. You should set your Picture and Brightness settings down to 0 for the first few months of use if you want to ensure the best PQ for a long time.

Okay, so there was no word on whether a higher temperature environment could adversely effect the quality of the images. I've heard that Plasma televisions are ill-suited to hot, dry climates like the kind I live in (southern Arizona). Does anyone know for sure if there is truth to this?
 
Is best buy even OPEN today? I have called the only two local to here, and both go to a voice message stating that they are closed and will reopen tomorrow. Is this a dirty trick or are they really just at home eating turkey?
 
Wow the toshiba laptop seems a great price. I wont be able to get it though. I am sure there will be more than 180 people in front of the best buy already.

Thanks dblagent for the reply. I figured as much. FYI everyone, ALOT of the prices in the circular are good online as well. I just ordered the Hitachi 51" 1080i (CRT) for 748.99 OTD (including free delivery and sales tax.).
 
I don't see the Panasonic Plasma in their print ad or online. It shows a 42in Westinghouse. Is this wrong, or did the thread creator get inside information?
