Awesome, it's not letting me add it to my cart though 🙁 when I try it says I need to make a selection and shows the box for it, but I can't do anything.


*edit* Only in Chrome, worked in Firefox.

question, I bought it and put the serial number in BC2, it said it would download it, about 10 seconds later it went to the main menu and said vietnam. I didn't see any downloading indicator so I clicked the play now button to see what would happen. It started a game but nobody was on it. So I went back to the main menu and did a a server search and nothing came back.

I'm assuming there's a lot to download but shouldn't there be a progress bar or something?

I have the same problem of it dumping me in an empty server anytime I use the play now button try going through the long way to find a server. You shouldn't need to download anything everyone has BC2 vietnam installed you just needed and now have the key to unlock it
 
SHEIEIEIEIEIET this game's hard, I'm decent at CS:S, not great but I can hold my own. I understand this is a totally different game. I didn't play BF or BF2, and I've never played BC:2 online either. I played the deathmatch rush mode 2 full games and I got 1 kill and killed about 40 times.

I know there's an adjustment time for any new game, but I wasn't this bad the 1st time I played CS 🙁

BFBC2 is pretty bad for noobs because of the unlocks. The stuff you start with at least to me felt totally gimped. I'm also a fairly decent at FPS multiplayer and had a really difficult time in BFBC2 initially, unlike other games. For instance in COD4 I can totally rock stock classes.

That, and if you haven't played any Battlefield games multiplayer/online, you'll get worked by the enemy snipers and tanks. They should rename it Battlefield: Sniper Company 2. D: Seems like any given time 1/4-1/2 of everyone on every server is sniping.
 
the sniping is bad, I remember when I started playing CS camping and sniping was frowned upon, my how times have changed.
 
It will since you activate the Vietnam part in game Steam doesn't play a roll in it. In fact you won't even see that you own vietnam in your Steam list.

It works, but I don't think it works right, I cannot get a kill to save my life. I played 5 full rounds and I've gotten 1 kill, and that was probably either luck, or the guy was already 95% dead. I have to assume that activating it on Steam caused an aiming bug which is keeping me from killing anyone.

The snipers are making it impossible to do anything, I run I die, I duck behind some bushes, I die. I go in a hut, I die. I tried playing the sniper and it seemed to always drop me in a location without cover and I'd get awped before I could make it anywhere.

This is the hardest shooter ever, ugh.

Try out the assault class or medic, pretty easy to level. Problem is you're late to the party and everyone is running around with red dot sights and scopes that see across the map, literally! The other hitch is BC2 is not lone wolf friendly, you need a squad to live another day. Oh and if you didn't know shoot in short bursts, if you hang on the trigger too long your spray goes all over the place.
 
UNABLE TO LOG IN, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER. This is all I get when trying to type in the Vietnam code in BF:BC2. It doesn't matter how many times I try. Still, always the same result. Its not the antivirus or firewall. I disabled both.... What gives?

Also what is up with a tax that is almost one friggin' dollar?! My purchase came out to $9.77!!!
 
bf:bc2 is my first experience with this new level-up fad with mp shooters. i hope bf3 doesn't continue with this nonsense. i love tf2 and there is a big difference between trying to acquire new weapons in tf2 and how they work in these CoD type games.
 
here's an idea, anyone on here who's new to game let's find a server that's typically dead, there are a lot of them it seems. And us n00bs can play between ourselves and level up. Because as it stands, unless you can level up from dying I don't see me making any progress in this game 😀

If you thought that was hard, wait til you try to fly the helicopter. Old timer CSer here as well and am finding it humbling as well. But as with all games, practice practice. I love driving the tanks tho, great fun.
 
I also recently got this game too. Though I have played BC2 on Xbox before, there is a learning curve. When u hit the Play Now button, it usually takes u to a vacant server. I had to search for servers on the server browser and pick out a server I like.
I agree about getting into a server and ur ass getting handed to u everytime. I had to search for a server for noobs, saying No stars, < 33 rank. Though that's still high, lots of players are in ur level.
