BTW, I thought I read before on a system misprint that Dell honored it if you had added in an accessory (monitor, etc..).

Order one if only the cradle show up, just return it. I had my lesson on the Dell 200G HD I said the same thing when the post come up, Dell will not honor it and dam they did honor it.
