*DEAD*ATI 2900 XT 512MB DX10 on amazon.com

Meh, not a good deal IMO. I think prices will be far closer to $400 on release and perhaps drop slightly below $400. Better to wait, especially since this is only a preorder.

btw nice find ops

lol 1 cent

edit: this thing will be way lower once it gets out. This is a good deal for those with ants in the pants.

Based on the "benchmarks" (it wasnt that thorough of a review, and there might have been more I havent seen yet) it bested almost everygame, except one, compared to a GTS.

Keep in mind, that review was only at 1280x1024, so the extra memory on the GTS was probably not taken into account. And this is overpriced compared to the GTS right now, so much so that its better to compare it to a GTX, which it fails miserably compared to.

I guess that's what happens when you partner with AMD...

love me x1900xtx and 9800 pro, but I'm not too sure where ATI's heading nowadays...

I love the guys arguing about the price. Last I checked, pre-orders were ALWAYS too high on newer cards.

/yawn end thread

Your dreaming if your thinking your going to get this card for cheaper, Cheapest price so far I have seen. Go do a Google product search. And no one knows how this card runs yet. More recent leaks looks like GTX speeds and priced below it. I preordered on the assumtion if it comes out on the 14th cheaper elsewhere I will cancel it and buy it from them but dont bet on it. Expect higher for several months until the card has been out for sometime.

If you are running Vista now plan on bad drivers for your 8800GTS. I tried the 8800GTS while I was somewhat happy with it the system refused to shutdown with it in my system.

Vista Ultimate + 8800GTS 320MB here.

No problems.

The new official drivers fixed all of the outstanding issues for the 8800 series, just need SLI work now.

Maybe for some but not here! I tried every driver I could with Vista, Thing wouldnt shut down period, Put my old ATI X1800XT in and problem solved. 8800GTS back to retailer!

Uhh, that sounds like a power issue, not a driver issue.

I would have thought the same if my X1800XT had done the same thing, Could have been a Card issue, Just didnt feel like taking the chance again. We will see what happens with the 2900XT as if it doesnt happen with this card it surely wouldnt be a power issue.

Based on everything you have said here, I would say that you are what your name claims to be

Bull Shit

You also seem to be bias towards AMD/ATI.

Oh yea Einstein thats why I bought an 8800GTS in the first place. Next time keep your comments to yourself when it doesnt offer the thread anything useful other then your worthless opinion. Maybe next time before you open your fat mouth you will travel to some Nvidia forums with the problems these cards have had in Vista. Nuff said.

Again, those problems have been resolved, even the WoW crashing issue (which was the biggest one).

My card is running fantastic in vista, overclocked to 620/940
