I let the ol' b/f put in a new rom and upgrade of Ram...plugged it in and everything worked great. Unplugged to put the casing back on.....and now, Nada! I've checked the power unit, changed the fuse, checked for burnout on the motherboard and still cannot figure out why I'm not getting power....even though it's feeding through the power unit. Any suggestions....? It was mentioned that there was a possible on/off switch prob, but how do you get to it???

Check all connections, chances are a cable has been knocked loose!

Does the machine power on if you remove the new cdrom (I assume thats what you mean by rom) and RAM?

we've gone in and checked every single cable, cord, wire....we can't find any that are loose. We haven't tried taking the rom drive out, but we did take the memory back out and still nada. No lights, no buzzers, no bells. I've checked the wires coming in from the front on/off and can't find where anything is loose either. I just can't figure out what would have happened between the time we loaded up the mem and drive to putting the casing back on.

Maybe you have accidently hit the I/O switch, just flip it back if you have one. That controls the power supply as on/off it should be in the back of your computer where you plug in the power cord.

I've done that several times, but it doesn't do anything. I've checked to make sure that the voltage is set right, I've changed the fuse (inside the power supply)- which incidently is receiving power....its just not making it through to the rest of the cpu.
