The last 5 times there was any sale on DVD+R media at OfficeMax, I went to both stores in town and they were sold out. Is this a scam?

Or is it $39.99 out the door?

I got the two memorex dvd 50 packs 39.99 out the door.

The manager/CSR said to use the rebate :(

Called to do a phone order. Out of stock, but can backorder....so rebate will probably not be good.

Went today to my local officemax they were out so they gave me the 2nd substitute so I got 2 packs of MEMOREX 4X 50pk for $39.99

I'm very happy because all I use is Memorex and have had Wonderful results with them. So when I found out the 2nd sub was Memorex I was like COOL and there 4X!!!! not 2.4

You can burn those Arita disk ($30 AC) at 8X with OM's khypermedia 8X (lastest firmware) burner ($50 AC)!!! So, $80 for a 8X DVD burner AND 100 disk, WOW .................................

Same here. I got the last 2 Memorex they had (along with the 256MB DDR). Manager did some checking and told me that I could/should be able to use the rebate. $59.99 for me. I don't understand how the rebate will work, but my local OM managers are very helpful and nice so if I have a problem, they will take care of it..

any thoughts on the rebate getting rejected because it's a Memorex ? ( I smell a rejection)

Was able to get in on this deal as well. Store was out of advertised media and with a little coaxing subbed the two 50 packs of Memorex 4x DVD+R for $39.99 + tax. Sweet deal. Unfortunately, another local Office Max would only sub the Memorex at $39.99 for one 50 pack. Although still not a bad deal, no comparison to 100 DVDs for $39.99... Thanks to all the AnandTech posters !

I went in at noon to the downtown Seattle OM, and they were completely sold out. They gave me a rain check, and told me there had been 30 people standing outside the door when they opened. Then he tried to tell me that they don't have that many 100 packs in stock ever. I didn't bother to ask him why they wouldn't stock enough of an item that was front page national ad flyer for the week.

Hopefully my rain check will actually mean I get them at the deal price. They didn't even OFFER any substitutions, even though there were plenty of other dvd+r packs.

I went to Batavia,IL officemax. they were out of the original ones, but had 71pks of subsitute Imation 4X 25 pks.

so i picked up 4 of these for 63 bucks OTD, instead of some of you guys who got it for 40OTD.

The CSR told me to send in the imation UPC to the original rebate, and they will accept it and send me the 20 dollar rebate.

Along with the reiept, printed out (4) $10 Imation Rebates going to the same adress.

So I will try to send the 4 originals for the 20 dollar rebate, then send a copy of 1 UPC for the Imation 10 dollar rebate. If that works i would get the DVD+R for $33ish.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc Type : [DVD+R]
Manufacturer ID : [RICOHJPN]
Media Type ID : [R01]
Product Revision : [002]
Disc Application Code : [General Purpose]
Recording Speeds : [2.4x - 4x]
Blank Disc Capacity : [Not Supported By Method 2]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
[DVD Identifier - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So are these good?

I have read alot of articles and posts about how Ritek, or Richoh are suppose to be able to burn at 8X on some Liteon drives. I have the 851 Lite on with upgraded firmware.

will i be able to burn these at 8X? or were those the Ritek 4X that can that can burn at 8X.

But I also heard that Ritech and Richoh are the same.

I paid $59.99 for these (Memorex 50 x 2) and was told to use the rebates. Did the manager / CSR say anything about why they were $39.99 OTD and not $59.99?

If you think I'm going to have a problem, put what store you got these at so I may have a chance if I need to return/rebuy.

My CSR looked on a sheet and said the Imations were subsitutes and the sheet also said just use the Arita Rebate form.

hey hodaddy, It doesn't show the 4x option at all?

Not on my Benq dual. What about you WallyKid? Don't know how DaHan gets em to burn at 8X. Seems unlikely.
Burned 3 perfect ones, so for 40 cents I can't complain.

I got the Imation 25 packs as a sub for $59.96 OTD and the rep told me to use the Arita rebate.

However, on the OM rebate flyer for this week they have a $10 rebate for Imation 25pk DVDs (which is what I got). Nowhere on there does it say I can only send in one rebate, so I took four of them.

Anybody think they'll send me 4x$10 rebates and I'll have 100 Imations for $20 total ... or should I just send the Arita $20 MIR with Imation UPC?

Ask them to look up the subs in the little sales flyer binder at the customer service desk. They have a binder with the prinout from corporate that lists each deal and any authorized subs. If they give ya poop ask them to call another store. The Fairfield, CA store had plenty.

Which one in San Jose you went? What price does the raincheck says?

These came up 4X with Lite-ons Smartburn & 851s.

Soak the sticker with lighter fluid - be careful thought sometimes the ink dissolves also (these didn't). Let it almost dry and the sticker will come right off. Or use the hairdryer mentioned earlier.

well, mine doesn't show anything else other than 2.4x for Khypermedia DVD + R medias. I wonder what latest firmware Dahan is refering to. Maybe his is not Made in malaysia.
