I just ordered a Dell 8300 with a ATI 9800 Pro in it, so this will work out well for that. I heard these 9800 Pro's run a little warm, so probably a good idea. I'm going from a Athlon XP 2500 w. a ti4200 128mb card to a P4 3.0 HT with a 9800Pro, so should help out some with UT 2004 and Doom3 when it arrives. Thanks for the heads up on the deal!

I have a DELL 8300 3.0Ghz prescott with 9800 pro too. Both CPU and 9800pro feel very hot and the fan is loud after playing UT2004 for a while. I don't know the temperatures though, tried several utilities to read the temperatures, but they couldn't do it. Anyone know how to read system temp for DELL 8300? The system is unstable, crashed several times during UT2004 in past week. I don't know it's the heat or some hardward problems in the ATI.

Motherboard Monitor works on the Dell 400SC....and I've read that the 8300 and 400SC have the same motherboard.

They have same chipset, intel 875P, but not necessarily same mobo. Sandra shows my 8300's mono as DELL.

seems like the thread starter failed to mention the coupon expires on sunday.

from email:
We may have had some technical difficulties with our servers last week, but this SVC is here to stay! Cash in on these hot deals while they last. Prices are good until Sunday Mar 28th.

you know.. i must admit i'm rather impressed with svc, at least from this order. i ordered on friday, the 26th, and rec'd it on monday, the 29th.

weeee!

I'm pretty surprised actually. I ordered this on ebay from SVC for 10.99 + 6.50 shipping = 17.50.

Didn't know that was exactly what was posted here!

SVC was soo fast. Ordered on Friday 3/27, got it on 3/29. E-mail came on 3/30 saying my item was shipped. The actual shipment beat the e-mail. Cool

Threw this on my Radeon 9500 np softmodded to 9700.

With Stock Fan

350/280 was the best I could push for it to be stable with gaming. 3Dmark03 score: 4600

With the Arctic Cooler

405/310. 3dmark03 score: 5056.

Am I tied with what a stock 9800 NP scores at in 3dmarks.

This is totally worth the $15 investment. Far Cry runs silky smooth on on "high" settings.

You are lucky to get a shipment that fast from SVC. This is the 2nd time I've ordered from them. 1st time, did not ship for 2 days and took 5 days via UPS ground. Damn, Newegg spoils us. This time, ordered Friday, shipped Monday. Not to be delivered until April 5th, damn again; I'll be in Jamaica for that week 😉 I guess the installation will have to wait until I get back.
UPS ground from Cali to East coast is so slow! I should have upgraded the shipping.

Go the silencer, got the AIW 9800...now how the heck do I put this thing on? Anybody know of a website with pics installed on a 9800 AIW????
