Taking liberties here since the mods usually let me get away with posting these really short time deals for you fatties in OT since, well, you're too lazy to click on any other link and go to HOT DEALS or something.

Anyway... today (7/23/2013) only, participating locations only, with coupon only (linky!) - Arby's Classic Roast Beef Sandwich, $0.64.

There, go have lunch.

Moved from OT.

The classic roast beef has 360 calories, 130 of which are from fat which isn't too bad. It does have a lot of sodium but also 23g of protein.

With a side a salad and no sugar based drink, I would think it would be a reasonably healthy meal at least as far as fast food places go.

The enormity of your failure can't be calculated with current technology. 😉

but it's not real 🙁

If you check out snopes, they will tell you that they are addressing the urban myth that the roast beef arrives as a liquid at the stores. They are correct that it does not arrive at the store in that state, however, the story does not look at the sourcing of the roast beef.

While it does not arrive at the store in liquid form, it does have a liquid (or more accurately paste) state during it's processing. What you are eating at Arby's is about 70% beef cuts, 12% fat, and and a whole host of chemicals that are mixed together, extruded, mixed with coloring shot through a metal tube in its liquid paste state into a form with hardening agents where it hardens into a meat type consistancy. It is then packaged in plastic with what is called "Self Basting Solution" and shipped to the stores where it must be cooked for 3 hours or it is unsafe for human consumption. If you want real roast beef, don't bother with Arby's, look at a real roast beef and then look at what is on your sandwich from Arby's, they are nothing alike.

Yes over 1/3 of a meal being sat fat is healthy.

I eat at fast food places far too often, out of necessity. Arby's doesn't have anything on their menu even pretending to be a salad. OTOH their dollar stuff isn't too bad for a change of pace. Their sandwiches look good but are generally overpriced.

Only has 5 grams of Saturated Fat, it's not super healthy but it's not what a normal person should consider unhealthy. Eating one of these sandwiches a day wouldn't push your saturated fat % over the edge. You really need to learn math, the sandwich is nowhere near 1/3 saturated fat.

No lulz to be found. Saving money is smart. Do you laugh at the old lady coupon clipper at the grocery checkout?

No. I curse her out in my head because she is in the express lane in front of me and decides to start looking for her coupons in her 45 gallon capacity purse after everything is rung up and the cashier gives her the total.

OP is offensive.

If people want a bit healtheir at Arby's, get the marketplace sandwiches.

You're kidding, right?

Roast Beef Classic:
Calories: 360
Calories from Fat: 130
Fat: 14g
Cholesterol: 55mg
Sodium: 970mg

Picking the LEAST damaging Market Fresh sandwich on the menu...

Roast Turkey & Swiss Sandwich
Calories: 700
Calories from Fat: 250
Fat: 28g
Cholesterol: 75mg
Sodium: 1760mg

If you turn that sandwich into a wrap, it becomes slightly better for you coming down to 490 calories, but still every single stat pretty much beats out that Classic hands down in terms of being worse for you in general.

If you want to eat healthier, don't eat garbage like this. Otherwise, feel free to indulge in a little treat every once in a (great) while that will probably tear up your stomach and leave you regretting it for the next 24 hours or so.
