sweeeeet!!! $30.00 then 10 off 30 made this the deal of the month. Store mgr said misprint, but also conceeded it could be read both ways, so overrode the register and gave it to me for 30. Amazing that no employee had caught on or that no customers had caught on till i took this one.

I figured the deal was dead but had to go get a UPS anyway. Whern I walked in the door today, my Office Max still had the flyer up AND happened to have one left in stock. Because the flyer was still out, the manager honored the $30 price. WOOHOO!!!

well if and when OM gets it back in stock staples will still have pricematch fodder. nowhere near as hot as the previous $19.07 but still a great deal on the UPS.

edited out my bad math

staples has it for $149.99, OM has it's corrected price at $99.99. a $50 price delta/difference. if i read the 110% pricematch policy correctly it would be. $149.99 - $99.99 = $50 50 x 110% = $55 $99.99 - $55 = $45?

someone correct me if i do the math wrong or am intepreting the policy incorrectly. the big problem with this is it hinges on the fact that OM has the UPS in stock at $99.99 :( without that staples probably won't do the PM, unless you get the updated flyer combined with a cool manager.

No it would be $149.99 -(1.1*(149.99-99.99))=$94.99

Your math would make it nearly a %200 PM :)

heh, yesterday I seemed to score 5 of these units with a PM from one of my local Comp USA stores but today I wasnt as fortunate.

it seems like every stinkin' store in the central FL (Orlando) area has caught on to whats going on and will NOT do a PM under any circumstances.

sheez..... you ask a retailor to give you a $100 instant discount and they go apesh*t on ya.

go figure... :D

I'd like to personally THANK clsA for posting this deal. Dunno how you found it but you THE man! I got the last one in my store just as a sales associate was showing his buddy! Ugh, I thought they wern't allowed to place things for themselves while "on duty." Thanks again (Phew, barely got it...)

There were several Tripplite Internet Office 500VA units on the clearance table up front, which is the model on clearance this week in the Nyc area. Specifications found here. Approximately 10 to 12 in the store on Atlantic Avenue.

Actually own one of these models, although picked it up at more inexpensive price ($9) back from this thread. Performs well, though am not certain it would be considered a truly hot deal at $29.99. This particular model typically sells for $90 to $100.

Interesting, that's the same model that I am using right now as well. It's worked quite fine for me over the last few years, although I'm sure that sometime soon I should consider checking/replacing the battery. I was hoping to get in on this hella-smoking 1000VA APC deal, but had to make a sudden cross-country trip this last week, and I forgot which store was offering the deal. :(

Did you get a free serial cable in the box? Mine only came with a postcard to send in for a free cable, which I never bothered to do. I don't trust "shutdown" software.

I think I paid about $60 for mine, from a reseller that I worked for at the time. $30 for one of these would still be a decently-warm deal, and probably still cheaper than purchasing a replacement battery. I could put my older UPS on one of my backup systems. Any idea if that deal is nationwide?

Edit: Looking at the current specs for the Internet Office 500 model, it now supports USB and hot-swappable batteries. USB support makes it a Hot Deal for me, thanks ActuaryTim. :)

Edit 2: The current .PDF manual says that you have to turn off the UPS to change batteries, which is different than what the web page description/specifications state. It may not have hot-swap batteries.

I got one at Staples, and a 110% price match brought the price way down. Total was less than $20 including our outrageous TN sales tax.

***UPDATE***

so, about four weeks later i get a phone call from OM, "Your officemax order has come in."

I go there and pick up three of the UPSs for $30 each. I guess I got a good deal eh?
