not to thread crap, but for anyone who has an extra 30 bucks you can pickup the Antech 1080AMG case, at your local frys for 99 bucks that includes a 430watt truepower 🙂

but for 66 bucks its a good deal, but for an awesome case for 30 bucks aint bad either.
shoot...wish there was a fry's in hawaii...🙁

don't go cheap on power supplies ppl...psu's are like car audio amps, max power doesn't mean jack!

here is another good psu roundup...

The 1080AMG deal is hot if you need it, but I don't. Is it worth the $42 difference to have the case only as a spare for a next buildout? (Adding CA sales tax in my thought process.)

IMHO it's got a case of the uglies.

Oh, and a note on the true blue supplies: they lack the automatic thermal control that the true power line has. If you value a quiet PS stick with true power only and mod your lights in there yourself.

Nice price for an awesome power supply.

OT, but can you believe that communist Gray Davis now wants to up the sales tax by 1% and add $1.10 tax per pack to cigarettes to get out of the defecit? He has run that state into the ground

Oh, and not to be a serial poster, but:

If you're modifying this power supply please note that it's a bit peculiar: the heatsinks inside are charged, dramatically so. If you touch them you will be shocked.

Yes, I found this out the hard way. (Insert Darwinism here.)

😛

I've got no sympathy for smokers, tax them until they quit or die. But yeah, the general taxation and in particular the proposed sales tax hike (Santa Clara County to 9.25%?) is absurd. I've got to get the hell out of here and leave it to the yuppies that can afford it. 😉

anyone know how many ide connectors this has? i can't find it.

power connectors😉

I'm guessing at least 6 if not 9 and 1 or 2 floppy.

From memory, since I can't be arsed to open my case right now:

There's seven 4-pin molex power connectors, two floppy power connectors, two fan-only molex connectors, one RPM sensor connector, one ATX12V connector, one weird AUX connector, and the main 20-pin power connector.

DAMNIT!!!
and i just ordered one from www.yesmicro.com!!!
paid 80.60

gonna see if i can cancel!!

Dunno if you are referring to an earlier version, but the TrueBlue 480W is feature-identical to the True 480W other than the inclusion of Blue Fan LEDs. I picked up a TrueBlue 480W and it has Antec Low Noise Technology as well as the fan only headers.

My bad, you're right. I had seen a true blue antec unit at some point that simply had their blue LED fans in it, which cannot be throttled because it would dim/turn off the lights. The current ones simply have some leds soldering in them with the regular fans.
