Thanks for the update. I've never known anyone to regret getting an Antec case or power supply. There may be better options in certain ways for certain people, but Antec is just solid value and good engineering. I'd say it's similar to getting Crucial memory or an Intel motherboard.
 
Can you take the front door off this case? That's the only thing I don't like about this case; it's the only thing holding me back from buying it.
 
The door is removable, but then it looks ugly. You may want to go with the doorless Antecs if that bugs you. Personally, I chose this case in large part because OF the door--to hide the non-matching optical drives . . .

heh...same case as that deal back in April for $30 shipped from newegg..just no psu or side window on mine...stripped case pics change "15" ..all the way up to "22"
 
I bought this case from ebuyer.com for around $60 because Amazon raised the prices. Excellent case in my opinion. I especially like its fairly small size, as a lot of server class cases are just too big and awkward for daily use. I added two 80mm fans, one in front and one in the back for some extra cooling, works excellent at cooling the hard drive which heated up quiet a bit without the fans.
Although the color is not black it still looks great and has a nice finish to it. Few things i I found a little odd were lack of support for some motherboard scrwes on my ATX Abit BH-7, and also to connect the front USB there isn't a standard plug but about 5 individual pins which I had to connect one by one for each one of the 2 front USB plugs.
Still overall this case looks great has a nice power supply which doesn't make too much noise, and has enough room to acomplish any day to day tasks.
 
Here here for the 2600. I picked up one of these from Amazon a month ago and have slowly been modding it to be the PC I use for goofing off at work. I currently have my old IBM Thinkpad 380D there (Pentium 150 MHz with 3 gig HD (upgraded to 3 gig after replacing the dead 2 gig)).

So far: I've bought a couple packages of rubber grommits from lowes or sears hardware, then used them to line the holes used to attach the PSU, put one on the support bracket underneath the PSU (to keep it from being free floating), then added two L1As to the front and rear positions - soldered the fans in series to run them at 6 volts and used "cut in half" grommits to act as insulation at the fan screws on the rear mounting holes. I've also a packet of slightly blue tinted thumbscrews from SVC while they were on sale for $0.10 a piece (along with another order) and have swapped them where needed.

The only gripe I have is that there's no rear panel to remove. My Chieftech/Antec 1040 type case had a rear panel which I could remove and then I taped all my extra wires to the back of the motherboard tray to hide them. This case doesn't allow that.... but, without a window, I guess that's ok.

Anywho, it was/is a great case and PSU for $55 shipped.
 
i have this case. its a lot better than the lan boy actually because it has the screw less drive mount thing and the lan boy does not. they are not the same case, just look the same.
 
I don't see why the SLK2600 is "a lot better" than the Lanboy just because the Lanboy needs screws on one side of the drives... but then, I haven't gotten a new 5.25" drive for over a year.

Anyway, I currently own the SLK3700 which can be had for around $65-$70 shipped. It is about 2" taller and longer, but it has a 350W Antec P/S, a great HDD drive cage with rubber spacers, a front intake filter and two 120x25mm fan cages. One fan comes with the case. It is really heavy tho, not like some other incredibly cheap steel cases that almost weight less than Cooler Master aluminum cases.

The 350W SmartPower power supply itself worths $40-$50...
 
Sounds like a CC PriceMatch opportunity to me folks! That 115% Pricematch difference will help get that cost DOWN and ya get the goods right then if it's in stock which it is at my local CC.

BB also has this case, so that's another PM opportunity if BB PMs online retailers.

I bought this case because it is a smaller ATX case and has a door to cover my beige optical drives. The Lanboy was too expensive and the SLK3700 was too big--I'm beginning the process of "downsizing" my hardware . . . 🙂
 
Received case today. Color perfectly matches the "silver" bezel of my 1900FP. This is a great looking case, and is well designed. I'm sorry to use this as my "extra" case since it's so nice 😉
 
THe current price is $60 w/ free shipping. This still seems like a decent deal...even if the it is $5 more than what was mentioned in the original post.
