That P280 price is crazy. I think I paid $50 more than that not too long ago.

I keep hearing tons of good things about the p280, especially how quiet it is which is a big factor for me.
Btw, that EMCJNHG243 code is good for 10% off any case according to newegg

I have the Corsair 300r. I opted for this over getting another Antec 900 as I found an open box 300r at microcenter for $50. I must say I actually prefer the 300r to the 900. Corsair didn't waste any money on glowing fans, they just built a solid case with some decent air filtration and a fantastic HD bay.

That's a great price if you aren't going to grab the P280!

That is basically the Antec 1200.

Figures I ordered a case from Newegg yesterday. Perfect timing as usual.

Its actually the Antec 1100 that has the same chassis as the P280.

FYI in some respects P280 is actually a step down in quality from P18X. P280 gets rid of the PSU tunnel, has a lot of cable management built in, and is much much easier to work inside, however, the side panels and the top panel are much flimsier than the P18X predecessors. P18X cases had quarter inch plastic panels that were very vibration resistant, P280 abandons that approach and replaces them with a regular steel panels with some adhesive mat to help keep vibrations down (unsuccessfully IMO). If you knock on the top of P18X case, all you hear is a quiet thud, if you knock on top of the P280 case, it rattles. You can always reduce unwanted vibrations by soft mounting your fans and hard drives in P280, and in most cases it can be made just as quiet as P18X, but the fact is P280 has seen some cost cutting and build quality has suffered.

If the P280 is anything like the P180 it should be really quiet. Side panels are well insulated on the 180 and it looks like the 280 has foam in the front. The dust filters actually work very well, have hardly any dust in my case; however I cut some pieces of foam window A/C unit filter to help.

I wish the P280 was ALL black. Don't like the aluminum front.

Ordered the 550D last week for $109 AR/AC and actually $99.13 after cash back from Discover and Fatwallet.

the 280 looks so much nicer though :-/

I like the P280 because of the 2x 120mm fans on top. The big 200mm fan on the 1100 is proprietary and not speed adjustable out of the box, plus you can't fit a 230mm radiator without modification on the 280.

I checked it out at Fry's when I was in Las Vegas and I have to say the P280 is a good quality case. :)

I'm using a P280 with i5-2500 and GTX 680, and it's very quiet and runs cool.

It may be flimsier than the 180, but Puget Systems and SilentPCReview gave it high marks, especially for use with high-end graphics cards.

Like with most big cases, you'll probably need to pick up a 12v 8pin extension cable if you want to route that cable behind the motherboard.

The 300r is a very good case. I built a friends computer with this case. Very sleek, but not too fancy. Great cooling as well.
