Good price for AMD fans. Just remember that it draws a lot of power, you need high end motherboard to be able to handle it.
 
Very tempting at this price; but also budget for a CPU fan. The 9950 BE does *NOT* include a heatsink -- retail or OEM. Unlike the 9850.

 
At 2.6ghz how would this compare in gaming to an e7200 @ stock (2.53 I think) assuming the game cannot use more than 2 cores? I realize that any game that uses all 4 will be better on the quad I'm just curious how this compares right now since the prices are similar.

Personally, I am glad there are no Fry's in my state. Why? No sales tax. I may miss the B&M deals, but with their cheap shipping and no sales tax for me, it is worth it. I only wish their prices were a little better on the things I buy often. Ewiz gets much of my money these days.

Yes, so a dual core shares one L2 cache, and a quad core shares two L2 caches.

It will beat it..you wont notice though. It's same or better than Q6600 in games and beats it a lot in other things.

Probably the most underrated chip out with enthusiast types and reviewers. Mainly due to we can't imagine running stock speeds and resent it's TDP/performance ratio. Athahot! But if you're going to run stock, like most people do, and need multi core, even it's retail $179 is a steal IMO.

My advice is unless you need quadcore for some heavy duty workstation stuff save your money and get the E7200.
