I searched for "athlon 64" before posting and this deal did not show up. Other combinations and permutations where not used.

Credit to Pocono for the original posting.

if the 939 3000+ get any lower i might be able be able to get any board i wantfor under $99
what i have been waiting on all this time 🙂

If you can get a 939 chip faster then a 3400+ with a motherboard that doesn't suck for $99 or less, post it. Really, I want to know. 😀

I got in on this deal and it's awesome. Coming from a socket A 2400+, my performance in world of warcraft with a crummy 9600xt doubled in the worst case scenario and quadroupled in the best case. VERY much worth it. Just be sure to get a cheap heatsink with it. It's OEM.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying this isn't a good deal. In fact I got in on it too. I could replace my old 2500+ and mobo, keep my ram and AGP video card for my htpc. I was then able to sell of my old mobo, processor and heatsink for $120. Since I bought an Ultra-90 heatsink for $26 shipped my upgrade cost $6. Pretty damn good, IMO.

i'm not saying its bad either
but i fronted on an emachine t6420 @ office depot for $268.88 (mgr markdown from $329.01)
so i just think about things differently sometimes 🙂 especially since my biostar m7vig400 has non-working usb ports

"Really, I want to know."

i do too!!! said i was WAITING (operative word here).
let the deal rock on!!! can build a nice machine easily for $250 or less
edit: used that gigabyte board a year and a half ago to upgrade a boss' computer after his ps blew up and took the mb with it - recommend it

Aww...the gigabye boards are oos.
And I don't trust the biostar or the pc chips ones. Guess I'll have to wait until they're back in.

All word on this cpu so far make it sound like a dream for its price!

I got the giga board and have been very satisfied with it. It fits in my Qpack case, has everything I need, and doesn't suck. Like PC chips.

Yeah, I'm happy with the Biostar board. I've had it for a month with no problems and it has some OC options too. My 3400+ is sitting here mildly OC'd at 225*12 = 2700mhz with plenty of headroom for more. Although since it will be in an HTPC, there isn't much need for more.

this combo (since it's OEM)?

Yes, I picked up a Thermalright Ultra-90 for $25 and it's cooling very nicely with a free panaflo fan...

just bought this combo for my wife's pc a week or so ago. got the biostar board with it. took my friend to show me where the sata ports were...lol. there aren't where i've normally seen them and they just blended in with the board....but they're on there.

Got the 3400+ and the Gigabyte combo. First Gigabyte board I have purchased. After correcting a small oversight by me, the board fired right up. Although it did not like the first stick of memoery I dropped in and kept locking up. Changed the memory and SiSoft Sandra has been burning it in contiously for over 12 hours now with no problems.

I paired up the above with the Ultra Case and Ultra 400W PS that Radio shack offered for $10 a pop a few weeks back. Dropped in a 200Gb Maxtor from Staples ($20) and a 512Mb DDR stick ($20).

So for about $160 I have a good machine to play with.

How does the deal work? I added the processor to my cart and the next page has a bunch of MB options. I add one to the cart but the total price is ~$140 when I checkout.

Might be a dead deal. I no longer see the combo tab as a selection on the page

It's fixed! You can order the combos again. Good until the end of the day though.

I'd jump on this if it had a PCI-E slot. I'd like a system I can use for awhile until conroe chips and MBs mature. I'm running an AXP and GF6200 right now 🙁
