Dead Aim Sux, too many incompatabilities w/ current AIM

The only other alternative to dead aim i can think of that logs your messages and clones is Trillian. But i dont' like the interface of Trillian. Too confusing and cluttered.

Do you guys have any alternatives to dead aim?

I dig on Trillian... but I don't like how if another user logs into their account from your computer their contacts and your contacts are all tossed in together.... it is very annoying

no it doesn't, it's loaded with bugs...they even admit they're not fixing them..and the way it messes up your buddy list is pretty awful..

I use DA 4.5 w/ 5.5.3591 and I have 0 problems with it

Agreed. The latest version of AIM sucks. I'm using 5.5.3598 with DeadAIM with 0 problems. Unless AIM forces me to update I will stay with this version for a long long time.


I've heard GAIM sucks. I've never used it. File Transfers don't work and there is no option for Direct Connection. These are two features I use the most in AIM.
