I posted on here before when I tried to upgrade my friend's pc. I put in a new nf7-s and 2500+ barton and it wouldn't start up. I tried the components in another rig and the nf7-s didnt work. I told him to get a new board and he bought a Shuttle AN35 nforce2. He dropped it off and I switched everything out and set it up. I turned it on and it worked for about 35 seconds but without any video. I tried turning it on again but with no video. So I figured maybe his videocard went out along with the motherboard seeing as I didn't try that in my rig. So I put in a different videocard and the system started up for a half second and then stopped. Now it won't boot it up at all. The ready light on the Shuttle is glowing but when I keep pressing the on button nothing happens at all. I believe the case may keep shorting out hardware and killing it. I'm not entirely sure and I'm getting pretty frustrated telling my friend I'll get it working and then bam another part goes on it.

Please help!

make sure no metal contacts are touching between the case and mobo. also, have you tried another PSU? maybe it's blowing up your boards. :(

do you get any beep codes or does it just not power on at all? is the HSF seated on the processor properly? does the fan on it spin up?

This is a differnet PSU that I've used. No beep codes, just no power at all. It is seated properly. I will gut everything from the case and try it on a piece of cardboard tonight.

Is the video card the right version AGP?
Some boards can't use the older AGP cards because the voltage is different.
That would probably fry the board.

Its a newer agp. I took it out of the case and it seems to be working alright. Now I just need to test it with eveyrthing plugged in it ( videocard and more ram ) and then if it works It'll have to be the case.

Is ti4200 considered an old agp? I have everything hooked up and the board is running but I get no video output to the monitor. I've hooked up two different ti 4200's and with no avail. What do you suppose that I try next?
