Dead 9800 Pro?

My old 9800 Pro has been having trouble recently - it started in 3D applications, where textures (and later models) were completely corrupted. More recently I've been getting some tile-looking corruption on the Windows desktop - this corruption shifts around (or appears if it hasn't already) when I physically tap the video card. I tried reseating the heatsink (and cleaning around the GPU in the process), but this didn't help. Does this sound like something that could be fixable, or is the card pretty much dead?

Warranty the card through ATI.

I had this problem, it's caused by overheating, however, a new fan does not fix the problem, as the damage is done.

yep, common, fried memory
mine did the same thing

get all the dust off of it and some air flow around it, maybe take the fan heat sink off and add a small amount of heat sink grease

but for the most part it's dead, new card time

Aye, it's at that stage now. I was hoping it could be a loose something or other. Luckily, it's not in my main rig anymore; unluckily, it's also well past its three year warranty (and I have an aftermarket cooler on it). I suppose the thing didn't give as much airflow to the memory as the stock cooler, even though I did use those little pointless memory heatsinks :x.

Thanks, all.
