I...don't understand it.

So pledge $105 and get a radeon 6870? That's it?

edit: yes, looking at dev comments that is it. $105 for the 6870. Since the 6870 retails for $170 on newegg, this is a hot deal.

OTOH, delivery will be sometime in december.

I went to the web page, only 10 of 235 deals left.

I started browsing about the 6870, checked back and 9 deals left. Browsed a little more, 8 deals left.

So I got it, then checked the page again, 6 deals left.

Not sure what I'll do with the card yet.:)

How does that card compare to my current Radeon 4890?
Numbers taken from previous anandtech reviews (yes these are using different drivers and different test beds so it is not 100% accurate but close enough to get a a general idea.)

Crysis Warhead 1680x1050 Frost Bench Gamer Quality with Enthusiast Shaders and 4aa
53.1-6870 (thus 52% faster)
34.8-4890

They're all sold out now at all tiers for the 6870 - but it's a confusing offer, I only got the $105 tier and hope that's enough. There's a lot about 'add it to another tier'.

$105 is correct. They may add more to the tier later today. Initially, there was no tier that allowed for a video card combination. In order to put the option there, they needed to add tiers after the initial Kickstarter launch. As a result, yes it's a little confusing. Hopefully Kickstarter will streamline future tiers to projects so that confusion such as this doesn't happen.

This is what you will do:

blow another $300 to piece together a gaming pc around the card.

Today there is a 106$ pledge tier that gives 2!!! 6770s

I think that's better than 1 6870 for 105 personally.

Wonder if I can change from the $105 to $106 tier...

Seems like a good idea? They're going fast. A couple 6870 deals are opening up...
