Just wondering what color is the drive? From the box art it looks like a black bezel drive. I need white to match my system. Thanks.

It is a black bezel. The box picture has "maddog" on the drive, but the actual drive does not, just the DVD and compact disc logos (these are also black, good drive to match a black case). Also, this drive is quiet (tray mechanism and when in use) IMHO.

Well.. 79.99 since they make up for the rebate being 10 less then advertised.
Considering you can get this drive for $69 shipped at newegg, it come down to if you are willing to wait on the rebate or not.

Now heres the question, is the stack of 100 DVDs for $79, is that a good deal for that brand of media or is it crap?

no...a 2500a is an 8x dvd+- drive.

I believe he was referring to the rewrite speed as opposed to the write speed...

You're still gonna be $10 short on this deal.
The current OM rebate for this drive is only $30. You guys need to make sure that OM gives you the price of 79.99 at the register, so you can get this drive for the advertised price of $49.99 AC/AR.

Unless they give you a $40.00 MIR, which I doubt they have. Even though their ad says it's available!

Good news for those of you that had OM reduce the price to $79.99, due to the fact that the rebate was only good for $30.00 instead of $40.00. They now have the $40.00 MIR available on their site!

So some of you will get this drive for $39.99 +tax AR!
Now that's frickin HOT!!!
Try this Linky for rebate

I scored on this drive today. According to the couopon the price should be $129.00 before the coupon and rebate. I went to the OM store in Corona, CA today and they had a large sticker on the shelf advertising the drive for $109. So before coupons I got it for $109. Then I applied the $40 coupon to bring the out the door price to $69.00. On top of that, I had a $10 off of $30 coupon. So out the door I paid $59.00 for this drive. After rebate I am getting this drive for $19.00. Check your store. They may have it advertised on the shelf for $109 before rebates instead of the $129 the coupon states.

Obviously, YMMV here but the display advertisement on the shelf clearly lists the price as $109 before rebate. You just have to persuade the cashier to apply the coupon to the $109 price. Do that and this drive is yours for $29.00 after rebate.

The manager here in Mobile, Al said there was no way he was gonna part with that $10. He told me to apply for the rebate and if I got $4o, I'd have no beef, if I got $30 he'd call the rebate people.
I don't feel that that is going to do anythng for my pocket. On the other hand even short by $10 I still like this deal. This burner's supposed to f/w flash to dual layer.

I see what you are talking about:
TERMS AND CONDITIONS?Offer valid on purchase of MadDog Dominator 6-in-1 DVD+-RW Dual Drive (SKU #20740502) at Officemax.com. Purchase must be made between June 23, 2004 and June 26, 2004 at OfficeMax.

But, this "Terms and Conditions" is kind of an Oxymoron don't you think?
Valid on purchase at Officemax.com. Purchase must be made <snip> at OfficeMax.

I'm a little cornfused on that one!

Went to the Officemax in Sarasota FL to get on this deal.

Of course with my luck and OfficeMax, they never have anything in-stock when they have a decent deal.

Since they were all out, the manager said he will take any other drive in the same price range or higher, and take $80 off instantly!!! So I go back and browse around. I picked up a KHypermedia 8x DVD+-RW. It was $129.99. He instantly took $80 off the price!!! Put it in my computer and it's a Lite-On SOHW-812S, which based on the reviews in an excellent drive, for $49.99 out the door! No rebates! Plenty are left at this location.

The UPC is 637668048183
The model number is: KDVRWDUA

Good luck!!

They also have 25pk 4x DVD+-R disks for $14.99 and the 5.1 Maddog soundcard for $2.99 after MIR. Snagged up a few of those items and used a $20 off $100 on the mail for a total of $84 !!! Sweeet!

I went to OM to day to get my $10 for the rebate error. They basically resold it to me at 79.99 and turns out the rebate that printed out today was a $40 MIR so I saved an extra $10.

There is a $40 and a $30 rebate on the OM website. Any chance of getting them both?

Looks like this deal is DEAD. OM site now asks you to enter your email address, I am sure to remove your address from future advertisement emails.

Went to my OfficeMax today in Coastal New Jersey (Eatontown). They didn't have any in stock but the guy hooked me up anyway. My drive will be delivered on Monday or Tuesday for free. Plus he printed out the rebate receipt with today's date. Cost was 129-40 (coupon) and then the 40 rebate for a total of $49.99.

On a related note, has anyone sent in their rebate yet? It looks like you only need the upc codes and the rebate form. It doesn't mention needing a copy of the sales receipt (unless the rebate form is the receipt). Anyone know?

I sent my rebates in. It looks like they got rid of the stupid book and went with a rebate receit and just the upc like a lot of places have done.

In CA, Bay Area, price was $129.99-$40 ad coupon-$40 MIR [printed with receipt] for a total of $49.99+(tax on $89.99). I don't know how some of you only got the $30 rebate. ND-2500A drive. Looks exactly like a Samsung Black DVD-Rom drive from the front, so you people with Dells, this will match perfectly: same square LED, same button, same headphone jack.

The rebate form that is printed out when you buy it is a receit also, look at the top.
