I talked to my store too. They said there is no such thing as a prepay to reserve in-store specials. Anyone that claimed to do it please send me a copy of your receipt so I can show them.

PCI-E will also allow for http://SLISLI down the road. BTX may not be well accepted.Originally posted by: upsciLLion

Because my next upgrade is going to be big. At least I hope so. I'll probably fold and order an AGP model online if I can get a good price on it. I'd really like to get PCI-Express, BTX, and 64 bit all in one fell swoop, but I highly doubt I'll have such luck.

They seem to have it online instock at one point, because it says Sold Out for the Ultra and GT!
It also says out of stock for the ultra at my store. Booo...

Well, just got back from CompUSA during my lunch break and I was able to get a 6800GT for 292.59 after taxes. What really sweetened the deal is that I traded in a old laptop (P2-300mhz Gateway) and got a $225 gift certif for it. The laptop was a freebie from a few years ago and I ended up only paying 67.59 for my new card!
The funny thing is that a manager helped me out and said, "wow, I think I'll have to get one of these myself... I sure hope CompUSA doesn't go bankrupt cause of this!"Next thing I know there are about 3 more employees around the register thinking about buying cards too.

I just got back from the CompUSA in Minnetonka and was able to pre-pay for a 6800GT at the 30% off price, so the total was 279.99 + tax. They didn't know the exact date they would be getting them in.

I just called an order a 6800 GT no problem. I am 150 miles from the closest COMPUSA and the guy said no problem I got it for 279.99 + 8.50 shipping no tax because I bought in NH where there is no sales tax and wasn't charged it for VT where I live because there are no Comp USA's. w00t I have no idea when they will have them in stock thoughI am thinking of canceling my order and getting a Ultra though
hehe Probably not though. The GT should fit my needs and I will use the rest of the money I saved for games other parts ect.
