and you CAN send in the original invoice as a receipt (I talked to B&M gateway regarding this, and I hope the guy knew what he was talking about.)
 
Has anyone other than Idahoski received notification of the product shipping?
I never did receive a "backorder" email - mine is just remaining on "processing"....

I just got my shipping confirmation at 2:22PM ET today. It had a UPS tracking number, but it wasn't in the UPS system yet. FWIW, I ordered on 08/08 at 9:00AM.
 
I got it. Ordered on 8/09/2002. Backordered on 8/09/2002. Received email that it shipped out. Used one day to arrive Ok. Not bad at all.
 
Well, I did not want to deal with the $100 rebate so I just cancelled my order today. So good news for some one who is still backordered.
 
Mine came with a full retail version of Quiksync which is worth the cost of the drive (after rebate) itself.

where do you find it? it's not on rebate coupon, so Toshiba will honor it, i think.

I received my "Shipment Notification email" this afternoon. The original order date was included in the e-mail under "Your Order Information." I realize others may view this differently, but even though I may have placed an order during the rebate's period of eligibility, it's still just that -- an order -- until the order is fulfilled and the transaction becomes a "purchase." Since the rebate states that the item must be "purchased" during the specified period, I wouldn't be comfortable if I hadn't received the Shipment Notification E-mail on or by 08-15-2002. TCA Rebates has a poor enough reputation as a rebate processor, and I wouldn't otherwise be willing to even take a chance.

Damn. Ordered mine on 8/9 at 09:30 AM EST, and got a second backorder notification today.
 
I called Gateway earlier today and they said that when I got the email confirmation of my purchase, this is my actual buy date and not the date the item ships therefore If item ships on 8./16 I would be eligible for the $100 rebate since I made the initial purchase on 8/9. Anybody else get this response when you called Gateway?
 
I ordered on the 9th and got a shipping notice about an hour ago.
A small victory, still a tough road ahead. Still have to get the ring to mt doom and come back alive(rebate process)
 
Woohoo! Got my shipment notification today. I ordered 8/9, but was getting worried after other people who ordered the same day were getting them but I wasn't. I'm happy 🙂
 
UPS just dropped mine off...this thing is tiny...and it comes with the Iomega software. I ordered when this post had about 3 replies...got the backorder email 3 days ago, shipping email yesterday.
