Dell is currently selling a Maxtor 250GB 5000XT External Drive for $375.15.

Take off another 10% at checkout to get it down to $337.64.

Dell is also offering free next day shipping but this expires tonight I think. Free ground might continue though.

eBates will get you another $7 off per drive and then use AmEx Blue or a Platinum/Gold MasterCard to double the warranty to two years.

Ziff Davis Australia seemed to like the drive (but not the software) as reported in this article. The drive can of course be used without the software so that's kind of moot for most people on these forums.

5400rpm is a downer but speeds are more than fast enough for mp3s and videos I believe.

This is a fast drive. THe rotational speed is but one factor in determining performance. Read up on the tech specs.
