On the Anandtech homepage, click check prices and it takes you to a zdnet page. On the right side of the page, there is a link to get 20% off at Crucial for today (May 7) only.

<< $67.99 for 256mb ddr pc2100 with free shipping >>

Unfortunately that seems to be the only decent DDR deal there. Everything else can be had for less at newegg (with better memory timings). :(

CompUSA is selling 256 MB of PC2100 for 49.99 after rebate. It is PNY Optima RAM. I went for it for my sister. I need 512 MB for myself so I will check out Crucial. Too bad I missed the 20 % and $20 off deal a week or 2 ago. :( Thanks for the link.

Don't forget the tax Crucial charges in 30 states.

<< crucial now has compactflash and smartmedia cards >>

They have CompactFlash, but where are you seeing that they sell SmartMedia? I scoured the site a few days ago and then again after reading your message and can't find any. They aren't in the general product "type" list.

Actually, I think Crucial has free shipping right now, so that would be the way to go. I just ordered some 128 mb pc 2100 ddr from them to throw in a cheapo system. It was around $35 or so, no tax and no shipping costs.

Sounds good to me.

20% off with FREE 2nd day FedEX (but with additional 6% state sales tax) is better than most online places in overall price and rapid shipping.

Awesome... 2 128mb CF card for $107 shipped. They might be a tad bit slower than the Kingston cards from NewEgg... but if the Crucials go bad, I know I can definitely get them replaced. :D

Great deal, thanks for the post!

Someone tested Crucial's PC2100 and it actually spec'ed at PC2600, so "better memory timings" are only on paper.

Also, I recently purchased a 512MB stick from Crucial and when I added it, my PC immediately became unstable, so I called them and they sent out a new one (which works fine) and even pointed me to an online page where I could print out a free fedex shipping label for returning the defective stick.

So, buying direct from Crucial is well worth paying a couple of dollars more than getting it elsewhere, and this 20% off and free shipping sale makes it quite a good deal, IMHO. (That is assuming you need more RAM now).

Good deal for those that need ram right now! I think that prices are on the way down, so if you can wait that is probably better. Just my 2 cents.
