last time BB has the TDK on sale for the -R, i got TTG02
great media. But make sure it's from Japan and not Taiwan

Nice post. Steer clear of the Khypermedia brand junk at Office Max. Nothing but trouble from those. I've found that the -R media is usually of higher quality than the +r in these deals. I got a 50 pack of Maxell -R last week for $19.97. Made in Japan, burns at 16X in NEC 3500AG

For the Khypermedia 50 pack CD-r's, the rebate has valid dates 11-14-2004 through 11-20-2004. Stupid OM, anyone know where the current (12/5-12/11) rebate is?

so how did your "hot date" go

Cool post, thanks. I've recently "burned through" a good 70 discs in the last few weeks, looking for a re-stock. 🙂 Wondering if I should go for the TDK 50-packs at BB or not, last 4x 25-packs were CMC, and 8x 25-packs were CMC and RICOHJPN. Would be nice if they were somehow T-Y, although I've actually seen more "skippy-ness" at the beginning of some discs with T-Y, whereas I sometimes occasionally see it at the end of discs using the CMC media. Haven't burned enough of the RICOHJPN to notice anything.Oh yes, all of those that I purchased above were DVD+R, perhaps I should try the TDK 8x -R and see what I end up with.

Anyone know what's up with Staples? When I search on the Teons it finds them and takes me to a page advertsing the two deals with a coupon for each one. When I try to add the coupon it won't accept it. Doesn't seem to matter if they're +R, -R or both. It won't accept any combination of coupon despite telling me exactly what to do on the Teon page.

I'm sure there's one out there, and I'm sure that I could find it if I searched hard enough, but is there a site or page or forum dedicated to discussion about the plusses and minuses of the various brands of DVD media?

Got some Sony -R's and my Panny RP56 just won't read them... not wanting to make that mistake again.

All Fuji -R 25-pks at my local store were "Made in Taiwan". +R, however, were all "Made in Japan". I am not sure though if +Rs were on sale.

Great info. I miss the days of FAR cdrs..I guess the redemption rate was unexpectedly higher than 30%! 😛

Thanks for the detailed post. Makes my earlier efforts look lame. I quit doing it when the free and nearly so pretty much died out as an every week thing, because I'm all about the Free/Cheap Stuff. Son is getting 100 DVD+Rs for Christmas that totaled $6. Brother and daughter are getting 100 CD-Rs each which were free and I'll still have over 200 free CD-Rs. Hopefully they'll be more really cheap deals in future weeks for you to post. Thanks again!

Radio Shack has Ridata 50pk CD-R on sale for $4.99 after RS $10.00 rebate. I have never had a problem with Radio Shack rebates or Ridata CD-Rs. Rebate is for purchases from now until Dec 24th.

The rebate form says limit 1 per customer, but sometimes the true limit is higher. Call the Customer Service number on the bottom of the form and give them the Offer ID #4655 and ask them what the "per customer" limit is for rebates. Radio Shack's Black Friday deal (50pk CD-Rs FAR) said limit 1 per cusomer on the rebate form, but the actual limit was
6 per customer!

I didn't see if posted but Amazon has the Velocity 4X+R 10 Pack for $1.99 A/R. While you don't really think much about it

(1) It's a good filler item for free shipping
(2) They are MCC RG01 - Which according to nomorecoasters.com is #1 Media.

I sure hope that isn't a fake media code.

Also : The Teons come in 2 types 4x and 8x. Make sure you get the 8x, those are also $4.97 for 20. That's a good deal.
