yep. you just have to make sure that your mobo is running on the 1:1 ratio/DDR400. and if you want the best of the best performance for your memory, OC your cpu to exactly 250FSB.

my mobo supports PC3200, but i have PC4000 memory. pc4000 has a higher bandwidth and is basically guaranteed an overclock to 250FSB. the timings do drop a bit though.

btw your link just points me to a newegg page with all this memory listed.

Thanks, but I am still little bit confused.

I am not planning to overclock memory/CPU right now. I have a AMD3200+ CPU.

What do you mean by "making sure your mobo is running at 1:1 Ratio/DDR400? Isn't that autodetected once i put the memory in, or do I have to change some settings?

The reason I want to buy this is, (if you copy/paste the link it should work), I want to upgrade memory to 2G. I can get PC3200 cas3 Corsair for around $135 at local Fry's. I just figure maybe it's worthwhile to put $30 more to get high freq ones in case I need to upgrade to better mobo/cpu later on ? What do you think?

Thanks again

True.

Your ram will be running at 200mhz (DDR400) anyways unless you Overclock.

It doesn't autodetect.

That GSKILL (or whatever 'overclocked' ram) will by default run as regular old ddr400.

However, if you overclocked it with your processor, it's guaranteed to function at ddr500, whereas regular old ddr400 probably wouldn't.

Epox, a 3200, and that gskill, all you'd have to do is change 200 to 250 in the bios and your ram would be running at ddr500 and your processor at 2.5g.

True. Go with the DDR4000 and you'll feel like overclocking it once "the big OC" doesn't sound as daunting.

woah woah woah....

If you want to buy DDR500 ram, you can use it at its rated speed and not overclock your processor.

settings:

CPU Multiplier: 8
HTT (FSB): 250
LDT Multiplier: 4x
Divider: 1/1

also, i'd make sure to manually set the settings 3-4-4-8-1T

overclocking is a bit more complicated than just changing your settings and hoping it works, I'd do some research and consider the risks before you attempt to make changes to your stock settings
