Hi ALL,

Ive an ATHLON XP 2800+ on an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe MB and 2 pieces of DDR400 Memory.

Should i run the memory at the FSB of the processor, 333MHZ.

Or is it allright with running the processor at 333 FSB and the RAM at 400MHZ.

If i would have to synchronise both of them, how should i go about with that?

Thanku

Agreed, you are much better running mem sync with the CPU (166 FSB and 166 mem freq in your BIOS) - running async will just slow you down. Advantage to running your PC400 at PC333 speeds (i.e. 166) is that you might be able to use more aggressive timings (see other threads for more info).

Alternatively, if you want to o/c your CPU (assuming a good cooler and if your 2800+ is not multiplier locked) you could try lowering the multiplier and raising the FSB to get both cpu and mem running at 200. In theory, at least ... my A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 board won't do above 198 completely stable.

Whatever you do, make sure you run everything sync.
