DDR3 Memory frequency vs 1T or 2T?

I'm having issues with my memory configuration.

DDR3-1600 RAM @ 2T, but can run it at a slower frequency like 1066 @ 1T.

I'm curious if achieving 1T speeds is worth the tradeoff for the slower frequency? Or better to use 2T and run it at 1600?
 
I run my memory at 1T and see a small boost in performance. Currently have the memory at 2333 DDR (CPU @ 26 x 125MHz) with the timings 10-12-12-30-288 1T. This is with SB-E. IB and SB may be different when it comes to memory timings.
 
Its does give you a small boost as I run my memory at 1T.

however I don't think it will off set the huge frequency difference you are looking at 1066 from 1600 is huge.
 
Just run them at 1600MHz, timings doesn't matter anymore when the CPU caches and prefetchers are already so damn good in mitigating RAM latency. The benefits are insignificant outside of synthetic benches.
 
If you don't need bandwidth then you can reduce the RAM frequency to 1066 1T
Im warning you now, you will not see a difference when you do this. Things are already soo fast. Better to have higher bandwidth and lower latencies. gl
