I have a question :
Has anybody have any experience with this memory :

DDR3 EVO Leggera DUAL CHANNEL GEL38GB1866C9DC ?

These are the specifications :

- Available in 4GB (2GBx2), 8GB (4GBx2), and 16GB(8GBx2) Dual Channel Package
- Available CAS & Model Number sku:
9-10-9-28: GEL38GB1866C9DC | GEL316GB1866C9DC
9-11-9-28: GEL38GB1866C9ADC | GEL316GB1866C9ADC
10-10-10-32: GEL38GB1866C10DC | GEL316GB1866C10DC
- Working Voltage : 1.65V
- EVO VELOCE Heat-spreader in Turquoise Blue with MTCD Technology
- Designed for X79, Z77 and other major platforms
- Intel XMP Ready
- Technology: DBT Enhanced, Die-hard Burn-in Technology
- Lifetime Warranty

I have the " 9-10-9-28: GEL38GB1866C9DC " model.
And my bios defaults to 1600MHz.
When i set the memory clock at 1833MHz, the bios enters safe mode and gives me a warning about the memory.
I think the reason wy it will not run at 1833MHz is that i have it running at 1,5V. I do not want to raise the memory voltage because after googling i had read that especially AMD CPU/GPU combo's and APU's do not like that. In other words, the APU can get too hot.

Does anybody have some advice for me ?
I guess i have to set the timings at higher clocks to run at 1,5V.
Perhaps if i try 10-10-10-32, it will function..

Thank you in advance.

The RAM is rated for 1.65, so that's why it's not working at 9-10-9 at 1.5v.

Why base what you do just by what's on Google? Why not just try RAM at 1.65v and see what your temps are like? You're giving up before trying.

This is what you got.

  • DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
  • Timing 9-10-9-28
  • Cas Latency 9
  • Voltage 1.5V

1.5 is fine.what motherboard are you using.

Thank you for your reply.

I have this motherboard :

GA-F2A75M-HD2 (REV1.0)
And this APU : AMD A10 A6700

I have been reading about it, and i think it is rated as it is with that XMP profile in mind.
XMP : Intel eXtreme Memory Profile.

If it is not going to work i might in the future see if it is worth the trouble increasing the timings while setting the memory clock to 1833MHz.
I am still reading about how much gain i can get though...

When reading the spd by use of cpu-z, it becomes clear. The 9-10-9-28 timings are the XMP timings at 1.5V. Jedec 6 timings are 11-11-11-30@838MHz at 1.5V.
