Have a quick question about memory speeds and the P4 - Are people able to get these wonderful overclocks on good quality DDR2100 (say Crucial), or do they require the more expensive DDR2700? Or does it depend on the amount of overclock?

Thanks!

my 1.6A is running at 2.24ghz with PC2100 memory, but if you can, go with the PC2700. You'll have more head room and you can put it in a newer system later if you want :)

Well, if you want good performance I'd go with PC2700 memory, which is designed for overclocking. PC2100 is good but it'll mostly be CAS2.5 and that's crap. Also, PC2700 is basically PC2100 certified to run at PC2700 speeds as JEDEC hasn't made official specs yet, so regular PC2100 is prolly not so good quality modules, as all the good ones have been overclocked and labelled PC2400 or PC2700...

Yeah, if you're gonna OC a P4 you'll definitely want some good PC2700 RAM. Samsung Original PC2700 at newegg is only $72, so that's not too bad and its very good OC RAM.

As far as I know, PC2700 is and has been an official spec by JEDEC for quite some time now.
