DDR2 vs. DDR

I have a 775 motherboard that supports both DDR2 and DDR ram. I want the best cost-effective overclocking combo for it. I plan to purchase a Celeron D, as I hear they are overclocking champs. Right now, DDR memory prices are falling. I have two questions. One, which Celeron D is my best price/performance pick for overclocking and, two, which memory choice would best serve me . . . one of the Corsair, Kingmax, etc. dual channel Pc 3200 DDR 1gb kits now available for $83 (AR, the Kingmax) to $100 or the Corsair PC4200 DDR2 kit now available for $129 shipped?

Also, the DDR kits all have a CAS latency of 2.5, while the Corsair DDR2 kit has a latency of 4. Does this matter? Thanks!
 
i wouldn't get DDR2 cause it has higher latencies and therefore won't be as good overclocking
 
For better overclocking I would recommend a Dual Channel DDR like Corsair TwinXLPRO
but at the end of the day... you've got a Celeron... why spent money on good memory?
