Looking on Newegg, prices for DDR2 SO-DIMMs are very reasonable, with a quality OCZ 2 GB DDR2 667 SO-DIMM going for just $30 AR. I plan to buy a tablet PC or ultramobile laptop in the summer for college, but I'm wondering whether I should buy a 2GB SO-DIMM now so I can have a cheap 3 GB of total system memory if DDR2 prices were to go up in the next few months due to decreased demand from the transition to DDR3. Will the mobile computing market transition to DDR3 within the next five or six months and should I buy upgrade DDR2 RAM now?
